Which mobsters strike u as clever/well spoken..

when u hear them talk/ and which ones sound completely ignorant?

For a thug, Sammy comes across as quite a smart guy. And from his interview he sounds well spoken too

Gotti Jr too. Bill Bonanno sounds like my librarian. Guys like Leonetti or John Veasey are total opposite. They’re stupid beyond belief. Oh and Wild Bill’s kid although guess he was never a full fledged mobster

Lefty on those tapes sounded ignorant and easily led. He was a sitting duck for a guy like Pistone who just played dumb- and the more dumb Pistone played, the more Lefty talked.

Leonetti and Casso don't strike me as dumb as much as they strike me as total sociopaths.

Dominick Montiglio is someone from the documentaries that comes off as fairly intelligent.

Nicodemo from the tapes sounds like the prototype S. Philly thug.

Michel Franseze and Michael DiLeonardo are well spoken

Joe Bananas and his son. Got their revenge on the commission by writing books.

Gotti Jr is well spoken and you can tell he reads and tries to educate himself.
You would be surprised how many mob guys that were insecure at their lack of vocabulary. Ive have seen many use words incorrectly.
Casso isnt well spoken but i can see he is clever.

Lansky was far from an idiot. Paul, well he sounds like a typical Brooklyn knockaround guy on those tapes, but he's also been described as having a good way with words.. so who knows? I think it was Fat Tony who complimented him, who, himself, was never that well educated.

Leonetti I agree does come across as well spoken but it’s the things he says that makes him appear ignorant ie we killed bad people/ blaming his uncle for everything etc he’s that naive that he thinks people believe him
