I used to live in Williamsburg which was once Bonnano territory. I saw Tony Rabito around the neighborhood a few times. But mostly I saw this guy when I went to get a hero sandwich. He made my sandwich a few times, was always friendly and was often joking around with the other guys in the store. Unfortunately he died and they closed. Although I live in Queens now I would still go back there if it was open because the sandwiches were great. The place across the street Emily's is still there though and I have been back for it... Not very exciting but all I do is eat so that is all I can offer

My real life stories with the Pittsburgh LCN is well documented. I have previously posted several pictures of me sitting with their upper echelon, Charlie Murgie, Michael Genovese and Jo Jo Pecora. My avatar is Henry Zottola aka.Zebo on the night I was married.

I saw Vinny Ocean at his strip club in Houston more than a couple of times, back when I interned at a law firm near there. It's closed now and I suppose he is a rat so I never met a legitimate wiseguy.

Re: Real life stories/encounters with wiseguys - 08/17/17 02:17 AM

Idk if he moved or not after he was outed in Texas. He shook down that one strip club but legal fees and all that. Houstone (Tango Blast) runs most brothels in Houston. He was friendly with them can't say names but I had some clients that frequented there. They helped him out with strippers that would do extra but once his real name got out it was over for sure. Never seen him since it got closed down. Only reason I recognized him is me being a nerd about LCN OC. Criminal Defense in Houston is mostly drugs and/or blue collar fraud.

Mid 2000's I was at LAX airport with my wife. I saw Henry Hill a few tables over from me at a cheesy airport restaurant. He was talking on his cell phone and drinking. He was a sweaty, bloated and drunk hot mess. I told my wife about Goodfellas and she said, "Ray Liotta looks nothing like him." Henry was in bad shape. Never spoke to him and no one recognized him. It was sad.

Saw Tony Scotto at his kids' restaurant back around 2004. Have seen some Trenton based Philly members around town throughout the years. One has a family connection to us but I don't remember him too well (was killed when I was young).

I'd imagine he'd collect at least one grand a week. 500 sounds too little from a club, but what the fuck do I know. Imagine guy is 90 years old collecting money? It's amazing.

Re: Real life stories/encounters with wiseguys - 08/30/17 01:29 AM

I did not personally encounter a wiseguy BUT, I did work with the son of the guy who taught Richard Kuklinkski how to do the cyanide and bomb stuff...He NEVER talked about it. Who would want to talk about his dad's murder.

Kuklinski eventually whacked the guy out. His name was Robert Prongey. So was his sons name....His son now lives in Canada.
He drove the Mr. Softee truck in Hudson County but I was just a kid then (born in 1978)
Not sure when Kuklinski whacked him out.

This Kuklinkski story was one of the very true ones.
I live like 1 mile away from Kuklinski's house in Dumont and always imagine him returning home on Christmas Eve after whacking someone. CRAZY!

Re: Real life stories/encounters with wiseguys - 09/01/17 07:27 AM

I've met some high ranking members of a triad organisation around 15 yrs ago

Several times in fact, because I knew their underlings and was invited to their parties. I would be seated at a table and we were all served a huge amount of drinks (which bizarrely nobody touched)

The higher ranked guys would order champagne and sit talk amongst themselves

Another time I was introduced to "Tony Lombrani" who was a hench man that was sent down along with the Krays

He did a long time too. Anyway, had no idea who he was and when I was introduced- the club owner who was a friend of mine said he's a big gangster

They told Tony I was a big mafia fan so tony asked IF I had read his books?

lol I hadn't and that was the worse feeling ever. But he was a cool guy, had one bodyguard with him. They left to go do a "line" upstairs with the club owner and Tony says to me (my name is Tony too) "u WANNA line Tony?"

I politely declined

Not surprised when he died of a heart attack few months after/ saw it in the papers

I've met Anthony Federici numerous times at his restaurant alwats a class act. Walks around his restaurant like a boss offering pastries. One time sat down with us and started talking about how the neighborhoods changing. Class. Also played poker with Vinny Gorgeous at the Taj didn't know it was him until couple years later when he was all over the papers. Very funny guy. He tried to keep a low profile with a cap over his face but it was clear that wasn't his natural personality so he would flirt with dealers, cocktail waitresses and talk to just about everyone at the table then realize he's being too loud so he would quiet down every so often before starting up again.

Re: Real life stories/encounters with wiseguys - 09/14/17 12:09 AM

A friend I know in NY, his father used to be good friends with Jimmy Brown Failla, childhood friends, grew up together. He used to tell his son that Jimmy was apparently a real pussy hound, up until very late in his life. When he was around close friends but not around other wiseguys, apparently he was real fun to be around and funny as hell. Also he had all kind of quirky mannerisms. I was told he loved to prank his friends and in general just fucking around. Once as part of a prank, a dog was needed to scare a friend of theirs who had a phobia of dogs, and Jimmy could imitate a dog's bark, like pitch-perfect. The guy jumped up, slipped on the mat or some shit and dislocated his ankle, basically he scared the guy half to death. He mentioned a lot of stories about Jimmy, which I cannot remember.

A cousin of mine there in NY she was engaged to the son/nephew of a very prominent crime family boss (could have been underboss) but he ended up tragically dying in an accident. She was devastated.

This last one is a very long shot, but a friend of mine from England, her grandma (96 years old at the moment) used to be engaged to a US soldier (they got to know each other when he was passing through England) during the war who ended up dying, KIA. He used to be a pilot or a flight crew member.
Right after, she moved to the States and got to know a godfather (I forget if this was NY or Chicago) who adored her. They stayed together for maybe a year or so, sometime between 1945-1949, but I have no idea who he was. My friend insists her nana told her it was a don, not a capo or underboss which I suggested, also she does not recall whether it was Chicago or NYC. She told her she could barely leave the penthouse because 4-5 bodyguards would be sent with her at all times. At the time he was worried because there was stuff going on inside the family. She mentioned the name Abbruzzo, Abbruzzio or something like that which did not really bring up anything for me... anyway, I guess this will remain a mystery unless her nan talks about it more, which she hated because it's a part of her life which she does not like to discuss.

Tell us more about your encounter with Anthony and Vinny.

To the rest of you, keep posting some good stuff. We wanna hear concrete examples not just "we had a talk" or "we chat".

Thanks again and keep 'em coming!
