Has a bodyguard ever given up his life for boss?

Plenty of higher ranking members have bodyguards and I wonder if any of them have had the guts to step up to the plate in order to protect their soldier, capo or higher ranked boss?

Even if it meant taking a bullet or dying for them.

Any scenarios coming me to mind?
