If Gas told Carlo he whacked Mickey Mouse- he would have included it in the book

Yeah, the Gaspipe book is filled with inaccuracies, and not just from Casso's lies. I still have a soft spot for it though lol it reinvigorated my interest in the mob after I read it

You put it nicely when you say "not considered all that credible".

Horribly written and researched book. As bad as Iceman and The Butcher. Loaded with inaccurate information. And not to speak ill of the dead, but I seem to remember a poster who said he had contacted Carlo about all of the errors in his writing and Carlo didn't seem to care about that stuff. For all the books he wrote Carlo seemed to have a very weak grasp of organized crime in New York. As bad as Ernest Volkman.

Mob Star and Murder Machine by Capeci and Mustain are pretty good. A lot of good information about New York in the 70s and 80s.
