Nando Bartolotta's son is the kicker for the Kansas Jayhawks.

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article39303462.html

Nando is a known made guy, who was sponsored by John Vitale when he got made in ~1981 (same ceremony as Trupiano). Nando has served a couple of prison sentences for bank robbery and bookmaking if my memory is correct. He is on the Missouri Gaming Commission exclusion list (https://www.mgc.dps.mo.gov/CasinoExclusionsweb/details.aspx?id=83).

Now, I am NOT saying, suggesting or implying that Nando is still active, that any point fixing or other illegal activities are taking place. I don't think it is the case at all. But the kid missed a field goal when Kansas played Texas. Final score: Texas 59 Kansas 20. The spread was Kansas plus 28. If the kid hits the 26 yard FG, Kansas covers. Again, for the record and for clariity, I am not saying the kid missed it on purpose or the fix was in. I think the kid just shanked it.

I wonder if any other made guys have had their own flesh and blood play Div 1 NCAA sports or pro sports. Does anyone know of similar instances?

Am I getting my math wrong? Kansas lost by 39 right? if he hit the field goal they would have lost by 36. Still wouldn't have beat the spread.

Ummmm how does Kansas cover when the score is 59-23? It's still a 36 point difference "if" he hits it. So if the line was Kansas +28 they were not covering whether he hits the FG or not lol

I'm down. One day I need to get down to Tuscaloosa to watch a real college game. My only experience is Rutgers, HA!

For Christ sake! LOL, I blew the math. My math is as bad as the Kansas football team.

Anyway, if a made guy had his own flesh and blood playing a sport (NCAA, NFL, MLB or what ever that has a line), it raises interesting questions. Can you imagine a Dad putting the heat on his own kid, nephew or relative to move the line? Again, not saying Nando did (or would) that, but "the life" does funny things to familial relationships.

Does anyone know of any similar situations?
