Skinny joey vs Tony Buck

So did these two ever clash? After Scarfo sr goes away- he puts cousin Tony Piccolo in his place at age 78. Then Tony Bucks retires at 80... So that's a whole 2 yrs he had in the streets. After Nicky jr gets shot, was piccolo just collecting whatever he can and avoiding a showdown with the Young Turks?

He was actually with Stanfa during that whole ordeal, but was smart enough to stay out of the streets and behind the scenes. Think he got indicted along with Stanfa and the rest of his guys. Both he and Shotsie Sparacio, felt after a while that Stanfa should've just given up reigns to Merlino & Co.


But even after Nicky Jr. was shot, Tony Buck was involved, he was captured on audio surveillance along with Stanfa in the Sal Avena office tapes, plotting hits and other things.

Tony Buck was often described in reports as low key and a gentleman. He got sentenced to 45 years in 1994, later reduced to 13 years and was caught on tape by Fresalone who was wired up by the State Police at his induction ceremony.

yearh they prob did not have one i think scarfo senior and junior were his cousins so i doubt esp after scarfo jr got shot they were exactly on good terms

can someone tell me more about him every mob book on philly he is never talked about much so i have read a few articles but i still dont know much about the guy

I grew up in Chester and associated with someone named in article. That being said I know about as much as next guy. He was very low-key and feared. My father dealt with him alot but by time I was in streets he was rarely around the spots his men were.He had house in Fl like Scarfo but was down there almost a decade before Nicky started going alot.We always refered to him as The Old Man, my dad called him Sam. One thing I can say is he was feared/respected enough to not be questioned when never around. He or whoever he represented had serious clout as Chester is known for violence and when he was in charge no one who knew stepped outta line or chAllenged him even when he was never around.My father once told me in mid to late 80s we answer to Sam. No one in Philly, or NJ just Sam and I bet you go to Chester now and mention him people would still tell the story bout NY guys trying to move in on him. Was always told to me that they were Genovese guys but may have been street exaggeration. He had someone backing him high high up, but good luck finding out who.

He is mentioned in the book Blood Oath by George Fresolone. If I remember right, all it really says is that he was a captain, and that his nephew owned a construction company in Central or Northern NJ and the nephew ended up testifying against John Riggi of the DeCavalcante family.

I can't remember where I read this; it was either on Mary Ferrell or one of the nj police organize crime report. Anyways, scarfo brought Idone up to see castellano about a beef. As a side note I don't think that the article / report I read stated what the meeting was about but, the article posted in this thread about the poker machines might be the reason.

But apparently they were up there and big Santo started really making demands and big Paulie looked at Nicky and asked him why the fuck this guy is getting so fresh and disrespectful?!?

Just thought it was funny. Guy must not have been scared of anyone to go mouthing off to the boss of the gambinos.
