Disagree. At least as far as Vena is concerned. I don't think the guy has been convicted of that many crimes or done much time...he is shrewd. I believe he beat a few serious wraps which is why the feds have such a hard on for the guy.

It looks like they have been feeding SB info left and right, trying to scare the guy or stir up some chatter. Probably have bugs on his and some associates phone lines as well as La Scarola and the boys are trying to stir up some chatter because they dont have shit on him.

He probably kept a low level guy like Hollingshead at arms length and Panozzo dealt with him. Why else has he not been arrested when Hollingshead has been spilling the beans?

Yeah he is one of the smarter guys still on the streets. Panozzo is a street guy and probably wont flip on him...but if they can prove a conspiracy another way that he was in on any of his crimes they are going to nail him.

If he knew the hammer was coming down, he wouldn't be trying to avoid federal attention. He would be taking out witnesses for the prosecution in a murder case(Zizzo). So it may be the best way to avoid a life sentence. But hey what do I know your the expert.

It's not the first time there has a lot of times where the press have found out there could be an indictment before it has happened

The feds still listed the Northside crew (along with Grand Ave, Melrose Park, and 26th St) as recently as 2007.

I should add that I'm referring to the Elmwood Park Crew and not the Northside Crew once run by Vince Solano. If thats what Scott was referring to, that would make sense.
