Re: Philadelphia family - 09/07/15 05:24 PM

40 total made men by my count, with 36 out on the streets. Staino, Nicodemo, Canalichio, and Esposito are in prison.

Factor in the rest of the guys (Scarfo/Stanfa/Faffy etc.) from the previous regimes that are in prison or shelved, and you have 50+ made guys in the family. Only Faffy Iannarella will be home next summer to add to the total on the streets, as well as Esposito from the current regime who is due out next May.

Re: Philadelphia family - 09/07/15 06:06 PM

There wasn't really anything new in that article, and I was going to post the same thing in the other thread. I'm not trying to be disrespectful towards Scott because I like most of his articles and I really enjoyed Leonetti's book. However, it's not like anything in that article was a well kept secret. Angelina and Borgesi haven't gotten along for some time now, and that's been well documented. Monacello even testified that he wanted to kill Angelina during that trial. It all just seems regurgitated; same thing with the Mazzone story. There wasn't any new details/information, only the same story that a few posters put on this board several weeks ago after they were out and witnessed or heard what happened involving Sonny.

I think he's making the Borgesi/Angelina situation out to be more than what it really is on the surface. Sure, they may not like each other, but that exact situation isn't unique to the Philadelphia mob. Every family or organized crime group has different people or factions that don't exactly like each other or get along. I could be wrong, but I think in the end they will make it work and things will be resolved the right way. Maybe Georgie Boy just needs to learn to be patient - it's only been two months since he was off of any supervision.

They have around 45 made guys, probably 25 that are active.

Re: Philadelphia family - 09/08/15 02:03 AM

Where in that article did Scott mention any bodies in the street? The Angelina/Borgesi beef is well documented, however the recent sitdowns and it's participants aren't. Neither was the detail about the Sonny Mazzone incident and Merlino's reaction.

48 total members by my count though there could obviously be some not yet identified.

Re: Philadelphia family - 09/08/15 04:06 PM

Nice chart, but no way Borgesi reports up to Angelina.

Re: Philadelphia family - 09/08/15 06:08 PM

Furio, where did you get that chart? Please take it down and delete it. That is the old version of my chart, and the quality looks terrible. I have updated it since then. If you want to post it or link to it in the future, please use the link I've posted down at the bottom - the newest version will always be found on my site.

Regarding whoever mentioned that Borgesi would not report to Angelina: I have never and will never claim my chart to be 100% accurate. That is impossible to do without being on the street and knowing all of the players personally. I did my best with the information that is available through news reports, indictments, and other sources. I originally did not have a captain for South Philly/Delaware County, because there is no real information out there. A very well respected poster on one of the other boards regarding Philly informed me that Angelina was the captain of that crew. It could very well be wrong information, but this person is in the know about Philly and is usually right on the money.

In the Philly family: Any major businesses besides sports book and loan sharking?

Drugs? Still selling meth?

You could add video poker machines.

The family operates on the periphery of the drug trade. Not really deep involvement.

Yeah, that was the boss though. I think Dame was claiming less than $5,000 on his tax return, for example. They were really a street organization.

true i think only ligambi and stanio made good money. The other high ranking guys like scoops prob made decent money same with mousie. Marty made nothing he had to shake down lou and geogre for money

Jack Buscemi, said he paid between 5000-12000 a month to mousie then to luciebelo thats good money

poker machines brought in 2.4mil according to the feds but as time went on less and less money is being brought in.

even some of there gambling operations are struggling (starts of about raymond murder then goes onto the gambling)

still look at the borgata indicment alot of money made there

though i agree a street organization a shadow of its former self
