Phil Paradiso

Any information on what happened to him? I've noticed he's popped up in a few different mafia circles as an informant. He was involved with Anthony Rampino getting locked up, his brother Mickey Boy, and also used as an informant by the NYPD when they were investigating Jimmy Hydell for the disappearance of his girlfriend. Another interesting sidenote, the detective that was working Hydell was Al Guarneri, Louis Eppolito's brother in law. Was he investigated in Hydell's disappearance? I'm guessing Paradiso just vanished into WPP but thought I would ask here since there is no info out there, thanks in advance.

this is a great subject. that lady who is the private investigator trying to get vi orena free found some good stuff on him. so hes that crazy Gambino guys brother mickey. he was a fbi informant for years. and was tight with greg scarpa. gregs scarpa brother finds out greg is bad and is gonna tell leadershit in 1987. greg sends a hitteam as stickup guy to a Colombo social club. masked black guys and one white who is phil. they rob everyone but a black guys aks the white is he the one. phil looks at him yes. they kill sal scarpa. no one finds out about the fbi infoprmant shit.

I just found it interesting that a non-made guy was able to gain the trust in many mob circles and provide information that got a lot of people in deep shit. Thanks PMac, I hadn't heard that story, I'm sure there's more out there. Any information if he was associated with Gene Gotti at all?

Not a lot of info on Mickey either, other than his beef with Gotti, being possibly involved on the hit attempt on Casso (heroin profit dispute), and being in prison a fair amount. Is Mickey still active?

Mickey got out of jail in 2011... I have no idea how's he doing out in the streets, if he's active or not, guess one of our local members is gonna have to fill us in. PB?

Lol, I think you meant to quote my post in the Greca thread. Yeah he was convicted for murdering 5-6 people I think, but I'm not sure how many of them were mob-related. Tbh, I haven't even read the Iceman, just not worth it from what I've heard... maybe I will one day when I feel like reading detective novels or some other sort of fiction.

Wondering why Paradiso was not put in Big Paul's/Nino Gaggi's crew?A part from Demeo and Eppolito's son,there were no young guys in that crew.If paul had guys like Paradiso,Lino and others that sidded with Gotti,maybe they would not in turn on him latter on.
Anyway,that crew had a lot of oldtimers,it needed some fresh blood.Don't know why Paul didn't pay more attention to his crew while he was capo.I understand he was tight with Carlo,but it's your own f...ing crew.

No idea, other than it means "Paradise" in Italian. My opinion, I don't think it's a very common name and I'd be a little surprised if it was Sicilian.
