Nothing going on in San Jose as far as Mobsters go

Only a handful of made guys left and they all are really up there in age and a few are sick. John "Johnny D" DeRose is one of the old SJ associates that is still around. He was going to get a book written called "Johnny Cool." But, he decided to pull out of that arrangement. He has been doing good, by staying out of prison, but the guy hangs out with a group of wannabe wiseguys at a coffee shop in Willow Glen right on Lincoln Ave. They are a group of old yuppies and they kiss DeRose's ass because they know he rolled with made guys and know that he did a lot of time in the joint.

Sal Marino and Carlo America are still around right

Yes, they sure are. Sal is still around but not doing anything.

Nothing is happening with them. They are all legit now, Figlia disbanded that family in the mid 90's. There are only a handful of the members left and a dozen or so associates left.

Yes some of them do own legit businesses, or have retired and gave the business over to a relative or sold it. There are Italian Americans still there, and some Italians from Italy and Sicily living in San Jose.

Forget Italians. There are no Americans in San Jose anymore.

He's right ya know! A lot of Vietnamese, many Pho restaurants, lol.

Vietnamese and Chinese. Use to be two Pho restaurants in SJ, now there is at least five times that many now, maybe more. Most of the old families that lived in the city have moved away.

Oh yeah, there's a lot more. That must have been back in the 80's when there were just a few. Still a lot of Chicanos on the east side, like the Berryessa and Alum Rock districts. The Northside as well.

Willow Glen, Los Gatos, West San Jose, Downtown, there are some areas you can still find the old families GT. Willow Glen and West San Jose are the strongest presence. More so with WG.
