We will not know, till someone flips, but I am sure they are making a few Sicilians who they view has earned being made. I do not think Cafalu is foolish enough to alienate the other crews in the family by making a lot of Sicilians.

My question is...Do you think that Cali and Cefalu are still involved in the large-scale distribution of hard drugs? The Sicilian factions have always been heavily involved in the trafficking of drugs so I was wondering if that was still the same or if they realise that it is too much heat. It's rumoured that Cali makes a shit-ton of money from his interests in the Manhattan food industry and i'm assuming he will be big into construction too. I'd read somewhere that Cali works with Calabrian mobsters who replaced the Sicilians as the primary narco-traffickers.

Without a doubt.

Franco Lupoi (Cali's guy) got pinched recently on a big cocaine deal with the N'drangheta earlier this year. 500k's of coke.

not for anything but a few of them killers in tommy shots crew were all young Sicilians born over there and they went to the Colombo family so its not automatic they go to the gambinos, and those killers flipped. but I bet that dom cefulo prbaly brought a dozen into his fold in the last few yrs but with so many old school guys he has to take them in to I mean there kids, an nephews of old Gambino from big pauls days.

Thanks for the reply, I remember the arrest of Lupoi recently. When I first saw the story about the arrests I was half expecting to see Cali's name but i'm sure he will keep himself well-insulated.

I believe the guy your talking about who flipped, dino calabro, has been in the US since he was like 2 years old or something. That hardly makes him a "zip", as so many people like to say.

For the record I never remember hearing that Lupoi was "Cali's guy", I do however remember them referencing Tall Pete Inzerillo

The article I posted above lists him as an associate of Cali and Pete. Cali also is part owner of a business with him, he's definitely 'his guy'

As far as I'm aware the Colombo's didn't bring over any 'zips' and I didn't say it's automatic that any random sicilian will go to the Gambino's. I'm talking about the HUGE Gambino Sicilian crew in Brooklyn, a ton of them are John Gambino, Cefalu, Maninno relatives.

Im not saying the colombos imported zips just saying the huge recruiting pool of young sicilians or boys of imigrant could go to the colombos huge presence in bk. The guy big dino family from there his cousin who fliped was from there. Dont even think dom cefulo import zips in tbis day just maybe inducts the boys of imigrants of sicily. He must be in a criminal way the most highest resepcted sicilian in bk rite? But the colombos have alot to. They had some sitdown between andy russo and gambinos over a sicilians medical bills from a stabbing and russo was pissd. Wanted blood first before a sitdown that guys a legend to.

What I meant to say was have the five NY families been inducting new members whenever they felt like it, or have they agreed to only back new guys at agreed upon periods, like every five/ten years?

Re: Gambino Sicilians - 07/17/14 05:03 AM

Word out here in Brooklyn is that he brought over around a dozen or so guys from the other side in the past couple years and inducted them along with a few others. The Gotti's are through and everyone knows it. Jackie is shining Frankies shoes now and Gene is hoping he can stay in the can because he knows he's safer in their. Why do you think Junior was attacked at that Pharmacy last year? It wasn't no random attack by some moolies, he was trying to challenge the leadership for his uncle gene. That was just a warning to him and anyone else that wants to talk treason, the next time bodies will be getting left in the streets.
