The son of an imprisoned Genovese mob boss was busted Wednesday on kiddie porn charges in The Bronx, police sources told The Post.

Joseph Nigro, 35, was allegedly using a file sharing network to trade, store and download a mountain of sick images and videos showing children under 16 engaging in sex, sources said.

The Department of Homeland Security was alerted on Dec. 2 and quickly contacted the NYPD’s Computer Crimes Unit, sources said.

New York detectives and Homeland Security investigators paid Nigro a visit Wednesday at his Hollywood Avenue residence in the upscale Throgs Neck section of The Bronx, sources said.

After confiscating his computer, investigators analyzed the hard drive, which revealed the illegal images, sources said.

Nigro confessed to the crime and was slapped with promoting and possession of sexual performance of a child.

His mobbed up father, Arthur Nigro, 69, was sentenced to life in prison two years ago for ordering the rub out of Massachusetts crime boss Adolfo (Big Al) Bruno.

Two other goons from Springfield Massachusetts were also given life terms for the 2003 hit.

At the time, Arthur was the acting head of Genovese crime family.

This guy pretty much picked a crime guaranteed to burn all of his bridges.None of his friends are going to stand by him,his business associates will turn their backs on him,and he will be a target in prison. Because of his charges,even his old man won't protect him inside,because he can't be perceived as condoning his son's behavior. His future will be segregation in the snitch and rapist unit,and a life as a pariah on the street if and when he is released. His best shot is to wait for the verdict,and if found guilty,to kill himself rather than go in.

From reading the article,it seems like this was a personal collection,not a part of any Mob business. The investigators have already identified his list of contacts,I'm sure,so we'll see if any more arrests are made,and if they are just other pervs.

My gut instinct is that if there was the remotest possibility of it being a Mob racket,the headlines would have been much different.

By the way,why does it matter who is father is? The feds busted this one guy from Ireland a few months ago who was dealing in that kiddie porn shit on the so called Dark Web. At the time they called him the biggest dealer of kiddie porn in the world. He ran a server on that dark web. Pretty sure the feds went to Ireland and had him extradited to the states and he's now sitting in jail awaiting trial.

I think pedophiles and rapists should get at least the same penalty as first degree murder without extenuating circumstances. Yet judges of many countries are lenient to them as if they were pedophiles themselves. Last one I read was a case in Italy where a conviction of a 60-year-old pervert who slept with a 11-year-old girl was overturned by the supreme court "because it was consensual"!!!

The mob seeks out illegal items/activities that a portion of the public wants and they provide it for financial gain- such as drugs, prostitution, human trafficking/slavery, underage stuff, murder for hire, extortion, etc....

So true, i have to say that's one of the few things i like about the tabloids here in Britain along with all the bs stories they publish about celebrities they name and shame the scumbag pedos. Despite the mob's long history of involvement in the sex trade, cases of direct involvement in kiddie porn stuff are few and far between. I don't think the vast majority of mafiosi, past or present, would condone that type of thing. Growing up one of my favorite bands was The Who. I went to many of their shows over the years and bought pretty much all their LP's. But it really killed me when Pete Townshend was accused of accessing kiddie porn on the net. I know he says it was for research but i'm not sure i buy that excuse. I hope he was being honest about it but i have my doubts.
