Which nyc borough do you think has the most made guys? I'm in Staten Island and guessing its here. Definitely has the most wannabes lol

Bronx and Brooklyn still are strong too

In NJ it's Belleville , Nutley , North Arlington , Lyndhurst , East Hanover, Verona, Caldwell, Bayonne Secaucus, Clifton , Rutherford etc, basically the suburbs of Newark, JC and Boken, which was the recruiting grounds back in the day .

I'm actually on my way to a big hangout spot in JC , JC still has a lot going on today in terms of LCN activity . Papa Smurf and genovese run that spot

He's referring to Carmine Franco, who ran a waste hauling racket with some of the NY families, particularly the Genovese. He's under indictment right now and awaiting trial, at least that was the last I heard.

Franco isnt made though right? he got arrested last january in that big garbage case.

Correct not made per a friend that saw him several times a week pre bust. Really no reason for him to be made , it doesn't bring automatic heat and still makes a ton of money. The fact he wasn't made probably worked out best for him and family .

Made or not he was respected and could not be fucked with without an ok from the very top .

He is somewhat similar to the Ponte's except he doesn't have that 100m (at a minimum) real estate portfolio . I do hear they still are in the garbage biz off the radar , in JC I believe. Some estimates have ponte real estate portfolio at 500m which is crazy and possible, I know the grandchildren and they have nothing to worry about , sick cash, was at their wedding last year , good kid as his wife is sick but he has stood by her . Go to Borelli in secaucus and crews are their at nights , parking lot is full of nicest cars you'll ever see .

Queens: Howard Beach, Middle Village/Maspeth, Glendale/Ridgewood, Bayside/Whitestone. That's about all heavily Italian that's left. Maybe a few blocks in Woodhaven, Ozone and Astoria.

Staten Island has the most members. Use to be Brooklyn, but as DB has said Bronx and Brooklyn still has a strong membership presence in those boroughs.

How many of the up and coming guys have college degrees? I wouldn't think that many but now a days College degrees are like the new high school degree ya know?

I don't think college degree guys are that uncommon. I posted in the Nola Thread About Nofio. The Guy is on the LSU alumni network on facebook that I'm on and the only way on that network is with an Alumni Address. So think about it this guy was active over 20 years ago when degrees still weren't that common, so I'll put my money on it and say there is a few educated wiseguys up there that we haven't heard about yet.

DB don't forget about the suburbs too, north Bergen and Passaic county's, Morris, Monmouth, the white parts of middles ex. U get a lot of young wanna bes who don't amount to more than bus boys in the legit life. But IMO the better guys come from the old hoods. As far as college goes, a lot more of guys are getting into the life in their thirtys or older unless there brought right into it. A lot of guys just are guys who worked hard half their lives and ran up a tab they couldn't pay

That's very true. I've made similar posts in the past, but I can't tell you how many guys end up "with" someone because they can't bring themselves to bet against the Giants or Jets.

The fact is, it's debt that will most often bring you into close proximity to these guys (if you didn't grow up with them), and that weekly contact breeds familiarity, which often leads to to trust and business relationships. A one-time brokester ending up with his button is a lot more common that you'd think (and sometimes they're still broke after getting straightened out ).

Allot of the younger "Bronx" guys grew up in southern westchester county, places like Yonkers, Pelham, Eastchester, Bronxvillle, Tuckahoe, White Plains, New Rochelle and Mt Vernon

Its a good thing if guys are getting in the life in their 30s cause their actual grown men and at that age they should understand the consequences.

Being a wise guy is a very long running career.Most other criminal organizations from street gangs to cartels have cut off points when a guy reaches a certain age he can retire or back off abit if he wants.Lcn wants its members to a life time commitment and its not like where a guy wants to get rich by selling drugs then once he makes X amount of money can leave the criminal life behind.Apperantly barney was a millionare in his early 20s,I really dont think some kid making that much money today will still stick around the neighnourhood and take orders from a 60 year old capo
