Orena had to much power

Apparently Carmine gave Orena the full powers of a Boss such as:
*Power to Promote or Demote anybody
*Bring any made guys into the family that he wants

Usually an Acting Boss doesn't have all these powers and has to have the Official Bosses permission but did Carmine really expect an ambitious person like Victor Orena not to pave the way towards himself becoming Boss?

How does one get to Carmine for anything..?

It seems pretty cumbersome to fly to California and try to talk in code about family business on any type of regular basis.. Plus, who would do it..?

Any chance Carmine and Allie Boy have had any contact in years, letters, etc...??

I'm sure he has taken care of a couple of the guards financially. You can see in the prison pictures of him growing a garden and riding a mechanical bull. What I'm wondering is what kind of boss would Orena have made if he fully took over?

Carmine has lots of people he can talk to.24 of us went south to a state that is known for its golf ,The top floor of a hotel was rented for us 16 suites.We were there for ten days they brought down two 40 speedboats and a sportfish...each day we would go golfing and a few of the guys would go see Carmine.This has gone on for years....We do same for Ally And others its there life these people live in prison,they dont visit....

Carmine gave a lot of power to Orena cause he is family. A cousin I believe. Carmine never would have thought Vic would turn on him, but Orena had been acting like a boss and meeting other members of the crime family, to where he had the family's pulse and knew a majority of the members wanted Carmine to step down and name a boss who was not in prison or under indictment.
