The New Orleans Mafia Has a New Boss - 05/08/12 08:09 AM

Michael T----- seems to have taken control of the New Orleans Mafia along with his brother Joseph "Joey" T----- . The T----- brothers have a five decade family history in the New Orleans Mob. They also have family ties to the New York Colombo Family that go back to the 80's. Here are a few links and some other infomation that supports this line of thinking.
The New Orleans crime family has or had an impact throughout all Louisiana and several other southern states like Missouri, Texas and Mississippi. It has an estimated 10 "made" members left and many more associates. Some people say it is almost dead; others claim that it is one of the most powerful Mafia crime families in the United States today. It has been said that they are still active but these reports are unsubstantiated.Since Hurricane Katrina two brothers Joseph and Michael T----- have emereged as a new force in New Orleans. Michael T----- [1] has a long history of run ins with the law and was acussed of being part of an attempt to "fix" a federal trial[2] as far back as 1988. He was released from prison in 2003 for a kidnaping sceme[3] where T----- would kidnap local drug dealers and hold them for ransom. They also have family ties to New York[4] and the Colombo Family. The T----- brothers own[5] and control a large residential sub-divison that has resulted in a RICO[6] case being brought against them it seems as though their futre is still in question. We will be waiting and watching to see if this is the return of the "old school" New Orleans mafia.

When you have to put 'reported to still be alive' as part of a guys description, then I'm not too concerned.

Slow news day Furio???

Last time I saw any mob activity in New Orleans was in a John Grisham book whistle.

But to play Devil's Advocate, can you imagine if the New Orleans Family was still a force after Hurricane Katrina?

Imagine how they would have exploited the cleanup and rebuilding? Madonne, we're talking potential billions!

Pizza is right on, had they been a force in NOLA after Katrina, the government bids and the waste of money that is thrown around by the government in these natural disasters is astronomicala nd would have been a gold mine for the contracts of all that needed to be done down there

It's crap. I already had a few debates with that guy. If you look at his posts, all the links to his "sources" just go to blogs, other forums, etc. For whatever reason, the guy is trying to create something out of nothing. 20 years ago, in the early 1990's, the New Orleans family was said to be nearly finished when the Gambinos and Genovese teamed up with a few remaining guys there in the video gambling case.

Me and my cousin Gregory Lola have always been anti tough guy. I'd like to know who the person is who put his name on this list. He was never involved in organized crime. Yes, we're related to some of these people on the list and most of the people on it definitely belonged to the mafia. Barry LaBruzzo?? This has to be a joke. He couldn't kill a fly if it was half dead! The men bellow are not soldiers and never were in the mob. I would know. Please take them off this list. The Tusa's are New Orleans businessmen that were associated with some mobsters, but they aren't mafia either.

Re: The New Orleans Mafia Has a New Boss - 06/02/12 04:36 AM

A lot of Arbereshe folks in Louisiana I see. Lola most likely comes from misspelled "Lala", a pretty common last name in most albanian-sicilian villages. I know that pre-Katrina NOLA had an Arbereshe club, one of the largest in North America, no Idea if they've been doing anything ever since.

Back on topic: as stated by someone before, if NOLA had a family, it could be the richest one of all since that after Katrina all construction, demolition, trucking and whatnot could have made them billionaires.

But NOLA does not have a family. Whit all the bad that happened...they don't need one.

My grandpa was Arberesh. They still have the club you mentioned in New Orleans. I'm a Lola too. Don't like it when people try to tarnish somebody's good name.

Are Arberesh mixed with Turkish like other Albanians in Albania.
