holy shit i was just reading that when you posted.
i doubt its a return of the westies, its only really the one guy thats been charged.
The article a bit over the top. makes it seem that the guy was some sort of genious for using a plane, im sure its been done before.
do look like a cute couple in the picture though.

Do you think they take windy walks together holding hands?!

His uncle William Bokun got out of prison in 2001 (i think he did 10 years of a 35 year stretch for conspiracy).

An irish forum says he runs his own crew out of clinton?

Im sure their "walks" are very enjoyable for them.

Dont know that much about westie members perhaps someone else on this forum knows more.
How many actual members of the westies are left on the street right now?
they even had some serbian that was their leader for a while.

No idea on numbers, my guess would be they are now just loosely affiliated crews. Numbers are said to have been bolstered with an influx irish dissidents (read it but not sure if it carries any weight)?

One of the former top guys is now back on the streets though, Kevin Kelly was released last year.

I have seen some stuff in the news of a new generation that included Eddie Cummiskey and Jackie Coonan's kids. One of them was in the daily news for some charge, saw a facebook video of another one beatin' somebody up but it was more like two packs of angry drunks crossing paths at four in the morning. I know a bunch of them are out and have also heard rumors of Kevin Kelly, one of Coonan's guys, dealing on the east side. But who knows for sure.

The westies are only smoking weed. There just a bunch of dirty drunks.

I really don't think ethnicity matters in the marijuana trade, all types of people smoke weed whether they make $8 an hour at walmart or make a million on wall street.

Unless they're sitting on their hands.

The shadiest thing happening in that neighborhood today is the outrageous price of coffee at Starbucks lol.

I freaking hate Starbucks!!!!! I refuse to pay $10 or whatever it costs for a cup of coffee, it is highway robbery if you ask me. What pisses me off even more is that everywhere you see one of their stores you see lines up the wazoo with people willing and able to pay that and more for it. I also dont like how they claim their coffee supports "fair trade", thats complete bullshit!

I try and get coffee at the local diner, mom and pop shop, deli, or make it at home. I try and support these dying businesses whenever I can. The coffee almost 100% of the time is much better and for the price of a starbucks coffee you can get breakfast/lunch at many of these places along with coffee and tons of refills.

There used to be this diner by where I went to college upstate that reminded me of the Happy Days diner (colorful booths, jukebox, etc). I went every Sunday morning for breakfast/lunch with the fraternity brothers to eat/sober up and chit chat about the previous nights craziness.

The good old days...lol

Ditto, Dapper. Must be a Bronx thing. I think their coffee is ridiculously overpriced, and it's too bitter to drink every day anyway. The only time I'll have a cup is when I go to the Barnes and Noble in Co-Op City. Are you familiar with it?

My gym is in the same shopping center, so I like to get in a workout, then go browse the bookstore. I'll usually just have an iced tea, but I admit that once in awhile I'll order a small coffee. But ONLY because it's convenient and ONLY when I have an hour to kill.

I, too, try to buy coffee at the Mom and Pop delis in Throggs Neck, but sometimes I'll go to the McDonald's on Tremont and Philip. The coffee is great and you can't beat the dollar menu price. The only other chain place I get coffee at is Dunkin Donuts, but that's not very often.

I know that Barnes and Noble, havent been up to Co-Op city in a few years. I love Dunkin Donuts breakfast sandwiches and those big coffee things they sell that contain tons of coffee.
