everytime i am out partying in the hell's kitchen area i keep an eye out for any "shady" business e.g. remnants of the westies, i havent seen anything out of the ordinary though
The shadiest thing happening in that neighborhood today is the outrageous price of coffee at Starbucks
.
I freaking hate Starbucks!!!!! I refuse to pay $10 or whatever it costs for a cup of coffee, it is highway robbery if you ask me. What pisses me off even more is that everywhere you see one of their stores you see lines up the wazoo with people willing and able to pay that and more for it. I also dont like how they claim their coffee supports "fair trade", thats complete bullshit!
I try and get coffee at the local diner, mom and pop shop, deli, or make it at home. I try and support these dying businesses whenever I can. The coffee almost 100% of the time is much better and for the price of a starbucks coffee you can get breakfast/lunch at many of these places along with coffee and tons of refills.
There used to be this diner by where I went to college upstate that reminded me of the Happy Days diner (colorful booths, jukebox, etc). I went every Sunday morning for breakfast/lunch with the fraternity brothers to eat/sober up and chit chat about the previous nights craziness.
The good old days...lol
