Mob retribution for members allowing infilltration

Does anyone know how many made men or associates have been whacked or shelved due to the fact that they allowed a U.C. to infiltrate or a member they sponsored or vouched for flipped?

There was retribution in the Bonanno family after Donnie Brasco was uncovered, I think Lefty Ruggiero would of been whacked had he not gone to jail, Sonny Black did get whacked though.

Was there any trouble after the Garcia incident in the Gambinos?

I know Massino said it was all just about the power struggle with Sonny Black.

Does anyone else believe it?

I do not know why Massino would lie but in my oppinion he did.

I will research Depalma and see if he was shelved again.

DePalma was only ever an acting Capo, and obviously once Garcia was exposed he was arrested and then he died not long after, so I don't think he was officially shelved.

I know Gotti made him an official capo for something in 1990. And Garcia's book said he got his stripes back and then Vaccaro became his acting capo as Greg said he would use Vaccaro to limit his exposure. just my take I could be wrong though.

So he would never ever get killed because of Garcia?

Be wary of believing Garcia on everything, DePalma was a pretty low level guy in the family, Gravano used to tell his wife he wasn't in when he called LOL. Garcia naturally wants to make DePalma out to be a real powerhouse to make it look like he was infiltrating the highest level.

I guess they decided he would die in prison. Diabetes and 1/2 a lung.

I always figured they would have whacked him just to prove a point and open everyones eyes.

Probably not worth the effort anymore: They whack him and eventually someone involved would rat as usual and it would lead to more guys taken down.

You are right Nicky. He had to be a real scmuck to fall for Garcia or he was so desperate for money.
