Joe Massino's testimony on deaths of Black/Mirra - 08/01/11 02:14 AM
He did testify that Sonny Black and Tony Mirra were murdered for other reasons than the Brasco debacle. Does anyone believe that or care to expand on why he would testify to that.

its believable just because he said it does not mean its the truth.....i can see it going either way
Mirra was a homicidal a-hole and Sonny Black was a strong and capable rival to Fat Joe Massino in the late Rastelli era Bonanno Family. He (Massino) had the perfect excuse to kill them both post Brasco, so why would he not?
I think he's full of shit.

Mirra was always on borrowed time - nobody liked him and he was a 1st class A-hole as someone said.
He was the guy who brought Brasco into the Bonnano's and that is why he got whacked.
Massino is mouthing off trying to come across as important
Just my 2 cents

In "King of the Godfathers," Anthony DeStefano writes that Mirra had been lying low after the Brasco blowup, and Massino got suspicious. Sonny Black definitely was a rival to Massino. So, I suppose, the Brasco fiasco provided an excuse to what both of them.
In "Donnie Brasco" (the book), Joe Pistone writes that before Brasco was withdrawn from his assignment, Mirra and Lefty Guns had a long, contentious sitdown over who "owned" Brasco: Mirra brought him in, but Lefty mentored him. Lefty "won" (if you can call it that)).

Good Point. I think Mirra was in Cesaser Bonventre's crew too who was also a maniac. Imagine those two guys holding a conversation lol

I always thought they were wacked cause of Brasco, just wondered why Massino said otherwise as he was not gonna be prosecuted for it. This is some really good input and did the Colombo's ever go after Jilly or his crew since they vouched for him to Ruggerio or did they?

Alright man i don't want to get into this because it's stupid but i want to bury this shit. People post things that i may think are old topics or not in a form of a question. but i dont try to be a smartass to them.. i would just comment on the topic in a nice way. I have never had a problem with that. I don't have any issues with you. i just feel you should have just been a little nicer in your post thats all.
Alright dude. Thats fair enough.

Cool. Now back to Massino whatever the reasons were that Sonny/Mirra got whacked Rusty still felt that they needed to go even though they were both big earners. I think at that time Big Joe was still getting orders from rusty in the can right?
