How come she didn't get whacked for skimming the Mob's money with Bugsy Siegel?

My guess is she set him up and it was probably all Bugsy's idea to skim money and back then it was unheard of for the America Mafia to whack out a women, it would be infamita She was also a courier for the mob taking money all over the world for them. I don't konw if this was before or after the bugsy hit but I know she was at one point in time

I've heard she committed suicide by swallowing a handful of sleeping pills. I doubt the Mob would wait almost 20 years to whack her.
