You're from Derry, NI. You should be telling us. Officially the IRA shouldn't be discussed in the Organized Crime forum because primarily they are political movement group. Basically the Nationalists (Republicans) want Northern Ireland (which is still part of Britain) to be part of the Republic of Ireland. And the Unionists (Loyalists) still want to be part of Britain. Sadly religion is often involved as most Nationalists are Roman Catholic and the Unionists are Protestants.

The IRA are sadly a small group of extremist Nationalists.

Don't worry, no inconvenience caused, it is a worthy discussion that is a very important matter here in the British Isles. It certainly must be if it requires thousands of British soldiers stationed there.

I never called them terrorists, but whether you call them terrorists or freedom fighters doesn't matter. The fact that innocent people get killed because some people cannot reason with each other is the main problem.

Sometimes, I just think we should grant Northern Ireland independence or join the Rep. of Ireland and get butt fucked by the EU (i'm not a big fan of the EU if you havn't guessed). But the problem of releasing N Ireland is that it would give a send a massively bad message that Britain has gave in to the terrorist activity when in the past it has had a no negotiation policy towards terrorism. It could be disasterous for us.

its terrible that innocent people get killed, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

The I.R.A dont want murders on their hand s but sometimes people wont listen unless there is a good reason to listen (bloodshed)

and it is very rare that inocent people die,
its always the guilty party!

I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE IN THIS MESSAGE BOARD SAYS, IF YOU'RE NOT FROM IRELAND, YOU SIMPLY HAVEN'T A CLUE ABOUT THE TROUBLES. fOR THE CATHOLICS IN NORTHERN IREALND, THE PROVISIONAL IRA OFFERED US PROTECTION FROM THE UNIONISTS AND LOYALISTS. FOR MOST CATHOLICS THE IRA ARE ABSOLUTE HEROES. THEY FOUGHT THE WAR AGAINST THE BRITS FOR 30 YEARS, HATS OFF TO THEM. PERSONALLY I THINK THE IRA SHOULD STILL BE FIGHTING THE WAR AGAINST THE BRITS. AN EYE FOR AN EYE, A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH. IF THE BRITS CONTINUE TO HOLD ONTO OUR LAND THE SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ACCEPT THE CONSEQUNCES. THERE STILL IS THE REAL IRA WHO ARE CONTINUING THE FIGHT. FOR ANYONE IN BRITAIN WHO READS THIS. RELINQUISH OUR LAND BEFORE THE WAR STARTS AGAIN.

You're probably too young to remember Omagh or the bombings of London in the early '90's to name a few. Guilty party, I ask? Surely the guilty party in the Real IRA's eyes are military and government targets. The IRA are no different to Al Qaeda. Innocent people are there targets to increase pressure on the government.

I'm all for giving Northern Ireland their independence, but their method is no way of going about it. And again, we do not negotiate with terrorists. The more bloodshed there is, the less chance you guys have got of an independent country.

IGD, you obviously have strong feelings on this issue. And to be fair I don't blame you. That is good. Read a few books, educate yourself on politics and fight for your cause civilly. In a civilised democratic world, that is how we do things.

i agree with you,
i have no feelings of attachment to the
evil people involved in the omagh bombing.
I remember it as if it were just yesterday-it
was absolutely terrible and horific. It made no point
I am not sectarian in anyway but the republican s involved blew up only catholics, their own people.

This is not only sick but wrong

anyone living in britain is my enemy. if our land is given up the war will stop. there are even republicans willing to die for the cause. the enemies of ireland are britain and anyone who supports them. relinquish our land and we will spare you. the war will continue until this is done.
