Gravano gets 20 years

Gravano gets 20 years - 09/08/02 03:16 PM

NY Times reported yesterday that Sammy Da Bull Gravano got 20 years after he pleaded guilty to buying 40,000 Ecstasy pills in Brooklyn (he still faces 16-21 years in Arizona for trafficking in the pills). Times reported that the once-powerful underboss "appeared slight, with a shaved head, pale pionk skin, dark blue prisonwear and bright orange espadrilles." When a reporter asked him how he felt about the sentence, he replied, "How do you think?" His reaction to the judge: "Thank God she couldn't give me more [years in jail]." The article also noted that Da Bull's original lawyer was taken off the case after being indicted for helping one of her clients, "an imprisoned Egyptian sheikh, run a terrorist operation." Guy knows how to pick 'em, doesn't he?

No one ever said he was a smart gangster. Just a killer, who though anyone who stood in his way should be done away with!

I'm glad he went to jail. He was a huge rat and broke the omerta. I hope Gotti's men tune him up is jail. If you know what I mean

Yes, he was given a second chance! I can't believe he'd be dumb enough to get "pulled back in." I guess once you're in your in for life!

Obviously he's not very smart is he? but like you said TIS once you're in, you're in for life.

Like Micheal said, " Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in."

Just about all these gangsters know nothing other than to live a life of crime.

It does make you wonder how strong the mafia is in today's day and age. Here's a guy who broke omerta, put away a mafia don and is all over the media and is still walking, and breathing.

Hi Pisans,
I saw a biography on the Bull on A&E. They said he was actually playing a real life chess game with Gotti, but Gotti was in actuality playing with Checkers. How they could let him go is a joke to begin with. Gotti didn't kill anyone. Sammy did. The Government to get Gotti made a deal with a bigger murderer. It makes me wonder.

So, Sammy Da Bull got sent down again, oh well Some 'crims' just dont know anything other than the life of crime they lived and loved. I think Gravano was one of these, I reckon he would rather do time in jail than be an 'average Joe'. Maybe the prison psychology lessons can sort him out :-)
Paul Pisano you say 'Gotti didn't kill anyone.'
what about Castellano and that guy who ran over his own son? Altho I know nothing was proved OK

Good for him! He deserves it! Let the world now realize that you can't simply betray someone's trust and get away.

Don't be so naive to think Gotti didn't kill anyone. He just didn't pull the trigger on some of the murders, but when he was becoming a "made" man you can bet he could kill with the best of them.

Hi,
There were rumors that Joe Pesci was supposed to play Gravano in a new movie. If I were Joe that is one offer I would refuse.

I think Gravano is big and ugly enough to stick up for himself. 20 years in prison. I think he will never be a free man again unless he is legible for parole somewhere down the line. But he'll certainly be able to look after himself. He was one of the mobs best killers. But on the downside he is getting old and the years of steroid abuse will kick into his heart soon.

Paul, I wondered what a Pisan is? Is it a simple spelling mistake of Paisan or is it intended in a way I know not of?

Hi,
I probably spelled it wrong. My last name is Pisano which means friend.

Well, it's your name, Paul, and your call. I thought "pisano" means someone from the city of Pisa, whereas "friend" is "paisano."
