Re: Once Upon A Time In America - 09/03/03 01:23 AM

There is no ten hour version. S Leone had Ten hours of footage shot when he finished, some movies have more, like T2. He cut it down to 6, but thought it was too long, and cut it to under 4. There is no higher version then the one that came out just now.

Re: Once Upon A Time In America - 09/03/03 01:30 AM

Wrong, 10 hours is how much was shot, not made into it, obviously he wouldn't bother putting it together after 10 hours because it is common sense. Scenes are not shot in order. He he did away with footage, then before he edited everything, he thought of makin a two part movie, but he didn't think that was good, so he cut it further and edited everything in order. There is no 10 or 6 hour version.

There is I belive a Six Hour Version.

He did not edit it n order. He wanted at first to release them as two parts like The Godfather, but wanted to make one single picture, so he did away with it and trashed more footage. The only possibility is there MIGHT be a 4 hour or a few minutes longer version but it is HIGHLY unlikely.

Surely you can't be serious. I am well aware of the film (Cure For Insomnia), but I doubt you have seen it. As I recall reading somewhere, it was shown at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1987.

Actually, I heard that it can't restore the 250 minute version because Sergio Leone did not dub the scenes and could not do it as he died.

10 hours of uncut footage doesnt mean there is a 10 hour version of the movie out there.

and Such is what we deduced. THe Thin Red Line Was a 6 Hour Film cut to 3!

Private Ryan had alot of stuff cut.

Schinlder's List lost about an hour of fotage.

Re: Once Upon A Time In America - 09/06/03 11:25 AM

His original film was just over 4 hours. The studio cut it down to 2.5 for the theatres. Leone was depressed by this as they really cut his movie. In either way there was'nt a 10 hour version.
