Mario Puzo and Frank Sinatra

I've read some accounts that the two of them were in the same restaurant shortly after the book came out, and supposedly Sinatra was furious. (According to one account) they approached each other "ready to do battle" and they had to be separated by members of their respective entourages. (From the pictures I've seen of Mario, my money would have been on him).

Being that this was a widely known incident, did Mr. Puzo ever speak of this?

Mario had great respect for Sinatra's voice. He was convinced to approach Sinatra in a restaurant and Sinatra did have a fit (supposedly over the scenes in the Godfather that presented him as a wimp) but Mario never spoke badly about him, and just said it was like a couple of street kids fighting with each other good naturedly. He understood, he always said, why Sinatra didn't want to be bothered while he was eating.
