There are too many to list here. Bono, Eric Clapton, Kurt Cobain, Bob Dylan, Dave Grohl, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Axl Rose and many, many others.

I've said it many times, ranted many times about it and i still say that Frank Sinatra was the single greatest vocalist I've ever heard if only because his voice and his method of reading a song so that he inhabited it brought an unseen truth to songs.

I like Tom Jones as well.

Although I was under the same illusion years ago, I find his voice suits his lyrics tremendously. The fact that he moves me emotionally must account for something.

I know it's a matter of taste, but I assume we are speaking of a combination of voice, style & appeal? My favorites are from the rock genre, but thanks to my upbringing, I have an appreciation of different kinds of music, and voices. Here goes (in no particular order):
