No fair.

Daddy Warbucks' value would be MUCH greater if adjusted for inflation. He'd be worth $331 billion in today's world.

Also, Jed Clamplett's worth was originally $30 million (at least on the tv show). The movie version jumped it drastically.

I don't remember if it was from the first show of "The Beverly Hillbillies" but Jed was discussing his new-found fortune with someone from his family (possibly his Aunt Pearl) and he said something to the effect of, "They have these new kind of dollars..... millyeen dollars". Absolutely hilarious, but I guess you hadda be there.

Where's Michael Corleone?

$100 million to establish the Vito Corleone Foundation, $600 million deposited with the Vatican Bank in exchange for the Vatican's approval in the Immobiliare deal....

He must have had a few hundred million left over, besides.

At first I was quite proud that a fair few English people made the list. Then I realised, bar Croft and Wonka, that they're evil English people. Now I'm very proud.

Wow Santa is OLD. I wonder how many livers he's got through with all those people leaving him a whisky by their chimney every year.

Daddy Warbucks only gets an inflation boost if is money is invested properly. If he just has cash in his bank account, then it doesn't inflate as much. If it's in certain luxury items like planes and boats, it might actually be worth less. Scrooge McDuck is severely undervalue as he was tied up in gold, which is the best protection against inflation. That volume of gold in his money bin is worth trillions by itself, as one cubic foot weighs 1200 pounds, about 17000 ounces, 8.5 million today.

For those who remember:

What about the mysterious "millionaire" that would send Michael Anthony out to give away a million dollars to a "nobody" every week in the old tv show, "The Millionaire"? Did we ever know the rich guys name btw?

John Beresford Tipton. [/b][/quote]Aah, millionaires are a dime a dozen now. If Michael Anthony rang someone's doorbell now, the Neighborhood Watch would probably call the cops. And, if he explained that he was simply trying to give away a million bucks, they'd say, "Don't come back here until you add three zeroes."
