Fall Out Boy - 08/22/05 03:05 AM

I'm totally into Fall Out Boy for some reason. There old and new stuff is great. I'm going to see them in Philly on October 9th too. Are there any other fans?

Hey Pat..

I went to a Less Than Jake concert about a year ago, and Fall Out Boy apparently is under the same label as them or something.. because they were there.. and they've also got a video on my Less Than Jake dvd..

But anyway, they were there.. and me and my friend weren't too impressed with them. They seem to be gaining popularity.. mostly by the kids who are like "boo hoo my parents hate me" when in all reality they're parents love them.

Their set just didn't sound good.

I dunno, maybe I should give them a second chance.

But then it will seem as though I'm "jumping on the bandwagon" and we don't want that.

I dunno.

I think their new album is great. How about My Chemical Romance or Hawthorne Heights?

Less Than Jake is great!

But Fall Out Boy... Kind of... Erm... Emo. I said it. Too emo/sad for me.

3 words...

ONE HIT WONDERS

I dislike them, but I don't see them as one-hit wonders. They've been steadily growing in popularity in the underground music scene for a while. One-hit wonders usually show up, and then they're gone.

It seems like the whole "I'm sad, please cut me and cry" thing is where the money is right now. God knows why...

Good point but the key words there were "UNDERGROUND music scene." Hence I stand by my argument.

But that's how is starts with this whiney emo stuff. It starts underground, and then movies in on popular television and radio.

Jesus, why am I defending this? I don't like them at all.

You know what? Screw it, let's hope they're one-hit wonders.

Less Than Jake is the father of my children.

Yes, that's right.

All 5 of them.

I saw MCR a couple months ago at the Green Day show in Pittsburgh. They tried waaayyyy too hard. And said the 'f word' so many times it was like they were trying to impress us with their mad 'f word'-saying skills.

Me and my friends made fun of their one song the whole night.. the one called "I'm not okay (I promise)"

You know how you do air quotes with your fingers? Well we did air parentheses.. and went around telling people "I'm not okay.. *air parentheses* I promise"

It was actually pretty fun.

Hawthorne Heights I like though.

edit: although if I see or hear one more person say or type the phrase, "cut my wrists and black my eyes", I will cut their wrists and black their eyes.

1 out of 3 ain't bad.

Personally, I really don't like Fall Out Boy. They came into Cincinnati with another band earlier this year, I believe, and it seemed that everyone in my school started getting into them right after. I don't enjoy the vocals at all. It seems like the lead singer stretches out his words for way too long, and he seems kind of whiney. I'm not a big fan of that stuff.

But, Less Than Jake was mentioned and I really like them.
My Chemical Romance, no way.
Hawthorne Heights- only Ohio is For Lovers, which is basically because I like the way he sings in it, and the screamer, but besides that, not at all.

I don't think I've heard anything from Fall Out Boy, and the only song I've heard from MCR is "Helena", which is pretty decent, but not good enough to make me wanna check out their CD.

I went to a Chevelle concert a little over a month ago. The band opening for them was 30 Seconds to Mars. They were pretty decent. Then Taproot came on and rocked the f*cking house. But Chevelle's set was awesome. I even went crowd surfing and almost broke my arm.
