iPods

I'm hoping somebody can help me with this. I just got a new iPod and it has been "formatting" for over 3 hours now. The little instruction book and the apple website dont offer any help. Has anyone had one that does this?

Hell, I just charged mine, installed iTunes and followed the instructions from there.

yeah, shouldn't take that long for formatting. I just installed i-tunes and it worked fine.

If it takes this long, then it must be faulty and you should return it and get another one. Mine worked fine when I got started.

Yeah, something's wrong. Mine maybe took a few minutes. Which iPod do you have?

It sat there for about 3 and a half hours, I got fed up with it, and just unhooked it. Tried it again in a few minutes and it worked fine
