How nice DeNiro! I've never been to Australia either. I know a few who have, and everyone who has only has nice things to say about it. You're there for a year???? Wow!

Have a wonderful time.

Don't we have a member from Australia here? Liz? I know Anton the Penguin is from New Zealand--a fine young chap if you get the chance to "meet" him online. Liz is a darling too, but she's never around here anymore.

Good luck and enjoy your adventures mate. I wish I was out there right now.

Oh De Niro, thats nice Australia huh. I recommend you to visit Melbourne, there's nice chilled weather although i dont know how its like there right now. The only city i've been in Aus, its got nice architecture, slick restaurants and great atmosphere. If you happen to go there and you like cultures, try going to Victoria St, its like a Vietnamese town with nice Viet restaurants too. Also one place called St Kilda or somethin along those lines, pretty interesting too. Hope you have fun

I went there 2 years ago and loved it

The last time I spoke to him in any real depth was Christmas Eve (Christmas Day for him, with time zones). He was on MSN a few weeks ago, but not for long.

Re: DE NIRO'S Just arrived in Australia - 06/16/05 01:51 PM

Aww, Capo, thanks for calling me a darling.
I'm a Melbourne girl, and Luna Park is definitely worth checking out. Crown Casino is also really cool, the best casino in Australia I reckon, although Tasmania has very little else going for it so theirs is alright too (no offence to any of you Tassie people). St Kilda is indeed interesting, and if you find you like it there King's Cross in Sydney is also worth a peek. Although the beaches in St Kilda are really nice. It's not really beach weather at the moment though, it was freezing today and it's raining right now.
Surfer's is really gorgeous if you make it up to Queensland, plus you get to see the famous Big Pineapple... A lot of touristy stuff to do up in Queensland.
And if you get to Sydney, you gotta climb the bridge. I did it recently and it was amazing. We also went on a night time cruise of Darling Harbour, that was really nice.
Have a great trip!

ive been in oz 4 months,Its been a while but thought i would let you know what ive ben up to,

Even though i been on the boards iver haven't been telling you what im doing, thats if you care since From July 12th to September the 30th i was on a brocolli farm picking the bluddy things it was terrible, hot weather, boring job,i was only doing it cause i spent all my money in the city, and also if you do 3 months harvesting works you have a better chance of getting an extra years working visa so i have the option to come back before i am 30.I have met a great German girl names Alxandra,so we are travelling together,if could be the real thing but its just that she lives in another country.

On monday we are going on a 11 day tour of fraser island, the biggest sand island in the world, and whitsundays were i will be sailing for 3 days with a group of people,it should be cool, ill post pictures when i get them

Did you do any traveling through Western Australia? Anyone who has ever seen the movie Rabbit-Proof Fence can then visualize the beauty of that part of the country.

In my younger years I lived in Exmouth, which is about 750 miles north west of Perth - right on the Indian Ocean.

Nothing like the reefs in Australia. Planning to go back very, very soon.

Good luck with your travels!
