Actually, you are very close to the truth! Adam's loneliness contributed to the naming of a female sheep. One day, he looked around and saw that everyone had a mate but him. So he saw the female sheep and said 'Hey ewe - come here! That's right, I am talking to ewe!'.
So ladies, when a guy says 'Hey you! or 'Can I talk to you?', he has a natural reason for doing so - this habit is in his jeans.
If you doubt the historicity of this event just consider this - is it a coincidence that Adam named his mate EVE? This adds new meaning to the phrase 'I named her after EWE'.
