Cinderella Man/On the Waterfront

This movie looks pretty good but it looks a lot like "On the Waterfront". Is there some sort of connection?

I don't understand why On the Waterfront is mentioned with a boxing movie. I mean, he's an ex-boxer, sure, but the film doesn't focus on it mainly.

I dunno theres scenes in both movies dealing with getting a days pay meaning he wasnt a boxer for the whole time. They just look very similar.

From what I saw during the previews, I thought of On The Waterfront
