....The Deer hunter?? I was looking at Dvd's yesterday and bought Goodfella's which i aint seen before and I spotted Deer Hunter...is this a good movie??

The Deer Hunter is the second best war film ever IMO. It shows the before/during/after effects of war, along with a great cast. The Wedding scene could've been trimmed a little but otherwise, excellent.

Although some can argue it's premise is changeable, which it is, Apocalypse Now is the best, IMO.

I've never seen that film before I'll keep my eye out for it

The Deer Hunter is one of the best depictions and heartwrenching films of how war affects those at home as well as the soldiers. My review of the film.

What are you waiting for man......get it! #5 on my list, and the best war film (though very little of it is actual battles)I have ever seen
