I'v always wondered why people kisses the godfathers ring. Ofcourse i know that its a sign of respect, but is there some kind of story behind it?? Hope anyone can help..

The kissing of one's ring (ie. the Pope or a King) is usually seen as a sign of reverence and/or subordination.
