Codecs? - 10/25/04 01:31 AM

Hello all, hopefully some of you can help me with my idiotic computer. Me and my friends made a short snowboarding video the other day on my friends digital camera, amd it works on all of their computers but, when I try it on my computer windows media player says "error requesting codecs" and then it won't play. Other videos work on it but not this one. Does anyone know how I can get it to play or another player that will support it? Thanks

When you get the message that your system can't find the proper codec you may be able to find out which codec you need to play the video. If you do, you can do a search (type in "codec" in any search engine) and you'll be able to find a place from which you can download that codec.

I know DivX is a popular codec that isn't one liscensed by Microsoft, but MANY videos use it. I haven't downloaded it since I don't watch many videos, but make sure if that's the one you need, download the adware/spyware free version (if you can, from oldversion.com)
