Commission Meeting of 3 Families

I'd just like to thank the heads of the Plawrence and SC Families (and their wonderful better halves) for sitting down with me Friday night for a fun evening of Italian food, drink and music!

It was great meeting up with you guys while I was away at my conference. You guys are a hoot, and I hope we can do it again sometime soon. Maybe even expand it to 5 Families, or even more!

And no, Plawrence, I won't tell the world that your directions to the restaurant made me turn a 5 minute trip into 40 minutes. I wouldn't do that to you!

Wow, guys, that is really great! I'm really pleased you guys met up! If only I was a Noo Yawker... Please post some pics, that would be terrific! So, the new pecking order at the top of the Family is JG, SC and Plawrence, right? Sounds grand to me!

(Dude, really, if I had a million bucks, I'd fly everyone to NYC for a convention. But alas, you'll have to wait another year or two, or twelve )

I, of course, have a slightly different take on the situation....

The hotel where JG was staying is 3 minutes from my home, which is 2 minutes from the restaurant, which is one that I've been to perhaps 20 times.

There is no chance that the directions were wrong.

Which leaves only the possibility that they weren't followed correctly.

But that aside, let me add that it was a great evening. SC took pictures and promises to post some by Sunday night.

Sounds like you had a great time!! Can't wait to see the pictures! Tell me, was there any GF talk??

Actually, suprisingly little. My GF expressed her surprise that there really were as many as two other people in the world who have watched the trilogy 30 times and know virtually the entire thing by heart, but that's about it.

Like I am worried about that, I can always BORROW a computer...

Seriously, next time give me more than 2 days notice, I will be there fo' sure........

Cool, a sit down. Who went to the toilet first? Glad you had a good time. I'll come over to the US one day to rock things up.

It sure as hell wasn't me.....there was no way I was gonna be "frisked" by Geoff or plawrence before I went

Our time together flew by way too quickly. My friend and I arrived 40 minutes late (REALLY bad traffic, not due to us getting lost like some un-named Don) only to find Geoff and plawrence holding up their end of the bar-rail just below the tv showing the Yankee game (I always knew the two of them were in cahoots in the BB League). Plawrence's GF arrived shortly thereafter and it was literally a matter of minutes before the five of us were engaged in conversation which made me think we knew each other all of our lives.

Here's a look at the three guys. Thats me on the left, Geoff in the middle and plawrence on the right:

I am going to NY next week, from the 30th to the 7th. If any of you guys would like to get together for a drink and a Bombers game, let me know. Where from in NY are you gentlemen from? I will be in Bronx visiting relatives for a few days, then I will be staying in Yonkers with my uncle.

I will also be at the Sunday doubleheader, so if you are also going, let me know. If you don't really care for me, I'd at least like to shake your hand.

So, if you guys didn't talk much about The Godfather, then what did you discuss? Did the BB get mentioned? Did you discuss how PL will now fit into the administration at the top? Didn't you guys interrogate him as to how he is beating your asses to a pulp (please don't take that literally!) in the baseball league?

I had the "Crostaceo con Pasta alla Toscano" -- Mussels, clams, and shrimp steamed in olive oil, garlic, and white wine with chopped spinach and giant beans, over cappellini. Mmmmmm....

We'll have to have the "sit downs" divided by areas; NY (the home office); the Midwest Branch; and the California Connection ha ha!!!

I completely missed this post because I was out of the country for its duration. But we should definitely try to set up a sit-down for the California Connection. And if my travel plans for next summer go through, perhaps we'll also have a convention for the Pinoy Mafia.
