Old members (2001) MIA

Old members (2001) MIA - 03/13/03 11:46 PM

I just realized some of us have been around here a looong time.

Made me also realize I miss a lot of the old gang that used to hang out here....

Friends like Dr. Jules - who was as serious about his Rams as he was about paying up his debts. What a thrill it was to be home sick one day and see him on a re-run of Jeopardy (He was a bona-fide 5 time champion). That was a fateful day in a good way! I'm sure I speak for others when I say...We miss you!

Don Illuminati - from Baton Rouge where I have relatives.

And others I remember enjoying their posts: Liz Skywalker, Vendetta (from Texas), Don Noledge, Daniel Corleone (from Chicago) and the ORIGINAL Sonny's Girl. I miss your posts!

And last but certainly not least - Don Cardi. On September 11, 2001 - this whole board held cyber hands together as we watched the WTC tragedy unfold and shared personal experiences from all around the nation. Don Cardi wrote at length and from his heart about his personal involvement that day and loved ones he lost. He always apologized profusely for his lengthy posts but many of us savored every word. For some reason I was thinking of him today and I hope that he is healthy and happy whereever he is.

How about it old-timers? Remember the old days? Are we having a reunion in 10 or 20 years like high school?

I wish I could have known these people. How long ago are we talking? All from 2001?

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/14/03 12:26 AM

Wow. That brought back a lot of memories. Liz Skywalker was one of the great posters, as well as Don Cardi. I wonder where these people are right now. I joined two months after the 9/11 tragedy, but I remember going back and reading some of the old posts soon after the actual event happened. How many of the "Class of 2001" are still on the board?

I'm pretty close to 2001 but i remember all these people.

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/14/03 03:07 AM

Yeah, I came Oct 2001, but I read alot before I actually joined. I cant believe its almost 2 years now. I look at the number of people on the board now and I see 2073 people, and I was the 518 member to join. At the time I felt so new but now...2073 people. This place has really gotton big, of course alot of people signed up dont post often. Like me kind of. Ive been here almost 2 years and have 325 posts...oh well, this people here are really nice and I really enjoy discussing different things here.

I miss Don P he was a great poster the man was very intelligent and had a style all his own I enjoyed reading ALL of his posts.

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/14/03 02:26 PM

There aren't too many left here from the real "early days"....Turi, Luca Brasi, Uztopoke, Don Sicilia, Beth E., Don Michel, Geoff and myself round out the first 100 members who still post reguarly.

Guys and gals like Sonny on the Causeway, Sonny's Girl, Don Rico, Don Thomas, Sonny, Ken Corleone, Johnny C., Dr. Jules Segal, Enzo the Baker, Piers Archer and Vendetta visit rarely, if at all.

BTW - I spoke to Don Cardi some time back, and he was doing fine.

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/14/03 02:30 PM

I remember Don Provalone- he was a great poster, very intelligient and thought-provoking. He was also the one to start those great picture-caption threads (and usually came up with the best ones- I still love the "air-guitar" one.)

I know I'm not THAT old of a member, but I've been here ten months. There's alot of people I miss. When I left, and returned... I was upset to see alot of people left, and alot of "unwanted" people here. ohwell

Don't know if you guys are interested, but I emailed Irishman12 last month. He says he has recently moved, and has not had a chance to get on the Internet. He hopes to be on some time soon, but rarely gets the chance to check into here. Nice to hear from him, though.

A tear in your eye????? Sorry never heard of that one.

shouldn't/oughta????? Lost me there too.

Here's one...hey SC...they got the alphabet wrong... they should have put U and I together.

Blame Turi...I stole that one from him.

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/15/03 08:13 PM

"shouldn't ought to" (Hell, if ya explain them, they lose something).

Thanx, BDD, I never heard that one before.

Beth - I hadn't heard that one (U & I) before, either.

How about some of these classics -

Are you lost ma'am? Because heaven's a long way from here.

Was your father a thief? 'Cause someone stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes.

Hello. Cupid called. He says to tell you that he needs my heart back

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/15/03 08:21 PM

Good ones, A few more 'oldies' ...

Do you believe in love at first site, or do I have to walk by again?

Mam' if beauty was a minute .... you would be an hour

You're like a dictionary, you add meaning to my life!

You must be a thief, because you stole my heart from across the room.

Is that a mirror in your pocket, cauz i can see myself in your pants.

Nice outfit! It would look great in a crumpled heap on my floor.

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/15/03 08:37 PM

Okay...against my better judgement, but here goes:

Are you free tonight..or will it cost me.

Here's a quarter, call your roommate and tell her you won't be coming home tonight.

I lost my phone number, can I have yours.

Woman: Do you have the time? Man: Do you have the energy?

Baby I'm an American Express Card. You shouldn't go home without me.

Excuse me maam..is that dress felt? Would you like it to be.

Do you know what looks good on you? Me.

Do you know the difference between a hamburger and a blowjob? No? Want to do lunch?

Hi I'm milk. I'll go your body good.

How do you like your eggs cooked? Why? So I'll know what to make you in the morning.

Hey baby, let's play house. You can be the door, and I'll slam you.

There must be something wrong with my eyes. I can't take them off you.

All for now!

you cant go by the member number in order to tell how long the members have been posting. I was posting on the old board. Which I miss the red lettering against the black background. I guess I was protesting the new board, so I did not officially join 3 or 4 months after the old board was finally dismantled. It's like blowing up the old neighborhood (Mulbury street). Sadly, when I did join the new board, I did not notice a lot of the old members.

We really had fun. We actually had sit-downs in the chat room. I think Geoff actually interviewed Lebo in the chat room as well.

I miss my friend Nick from down under. I changed my email address and users name so we lost touch.

Probably my favourite thread ever. He was a genius at those!

I've been here since early June 2002 but there were people there who I really liked, Ricardo for example.

This board has become wildly popular, I can't believe how many people have come! eek eek

Hey Beth, do we know each other, cause those are all my best lines? lol Oh well, they never seemed to work out so well for me anyway. However there are still a few more that I will share in the hopes that SC may be able to use them on his trip to AC on Sunday. Feel free to use any as you see best SC wink ... hopefully you will have more success with them than I ever did tongue ... so against my better judgment also ...

Your body's name must be Visa, because it's everywhere I want to be

Can I buy you a drink, or do you just want the money.

Do you have a map? I just keep on getting lost in your eyes.

Your lips look so lonely.... Would they like to meet mine?

Can I have a picture? I want Santa Claus to know exactly what to get me for Christmas.

If stars would fall everytime I would think of you, the sky would soon be empty.

If looks were against the law you'd be arrested, booked, and jailed for life.

I can sense that you're a terrific lover, and it intimidates me a little.

Hi, I've been undressing you with my eyes all night long, and think it's time to see if I'm right.

Lick your finger and touch the person, touch yourself with it and say, "Let's you and me get out of these wet clothes."

I've got an alarm clock that makes the best sound in the morning. Would you like to come and hear it?

You know, you might be asked to leave soon. You're making the other women look really bad.

I may not be the best-looking guy here, but I'm the only one talking to you.

You with all those curves, and me with no brakes !!!

Do you sleep on your stomach? ...Can I?

Lets stand toe to toe and get something straight between us!

I wish you were a Pony Carousel outside Walmart so I could ride you all day for a quarter

If you have lost your virginity, can i have the box it came in?

If you were a pair of pants I'd wear you out!!

If we were squirrels could I bust a nut in your hole?

There are others, much funnier and a bit nasty, but with what appears to be the average age of the male posters here recently just barely able to shave, I think I will need to refrain from posting them for fear of legal persecution.

Re: Old members (2001) MIA - 03/16/03 02:42 PM

Haha...most of those are hilarious..especially I'm not the best looking guy in the world but I'm the only one talking to you. I think I've actually heard that one.

Uh, oh. My parents met at this place. Let's get the hell out of here.

That dress looks good on you. As a matter of fact, so would I.

There are 265 bones in the human body. Want one more?
Hey baby, there's a party in my pants and you're invited.

I've been a bad boy/girl. So spank me.
Come over here and get a taste of America's Most Wanted.
Do you mind if I end this sentence in a proposition?
You're good at math right? Is 69 a perfect square?

See Cam, guess you didn't know all the great knowledge and wisdom you can gather and learn from this board. lol I can only hope SC has access to these for his trip today.

And regarding the one about a party in my pants and your invited - that one I do know although my version has a bit 'racier' ending, glad this version went up first eek

So continuing against my better judgement a few more...

Do you have a quarter? My mom told me to call her when I found the girl of my dreams.

Are you tired? You should be because you've been running through my mind all night.

Come on, you can't get pregnant again.

What's that on your face? Oh, must just be beauty. Here, let me get it off. Hey, it's not coming off!"

I'm Irish. Do you have any Irish in you? Would you like some? (approriate for this weekend)

I hope the word of the day is legs, because I would sure like to spread the word.

Should I call you in the morning or nudge you?

What winks and screws like a tiger?" (while winking.)

We'll need to see if anyone here will actaully try and use some of these - somehow it may not suprise me.
