Woodside rent and life..

Hey this is for the NYers here, especially those familiar with queens (ahem.. PB). I noticed rents in Woodside are pretty affordable and it's not a bad area. It's right next to astoria and I'm thinking of checking it out. Any pros and cons to keep in mind there in terms of subway access or whatever? Astoria is getting expensive. Lotta new buildings popping up off 31st street. Nice spots, with the rent to go with it

If you can deal wit all the Micks, you'll do fine.

It a good area, I still have family there and do business in the neighborhood as well.

Easy access to anywhere, in my opinion better than Astoria / LIC

Cool. As long as I'm within a few blocks of the train I imagine it's gonna be fine. Rents are comparable to some areas upstate too.

You can walk to the 7 train which brings you to any other train you may need via Queensboro plaza or Straight into Times Square.

You can also catch LIRR or a few Bus lines that can take you to the beach scenes and or day /weekend trips very convienently.
