Did anyone read that article about the Dutch mayor? He makes a lot of sense.

Embrace Western-style democracy — or “f-off!”
The Moroccan-born mayor of the Dutch city of Rotterdam has some tough love for his fellow Muslim immigrants who don’t like the freedoms and tolerance of their adopted countries.
“It is incomprehensible that you can turn against freedom,” Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb told Dutch news program “Newshour.”
“But if you don’t like freedom, for heaven’s sake pack your bags and leave. If you do not like it here because some humorists you don’t like are making a newspaper, may I then say you can f— off!”

I heard on the radio news yesterday that Saudi Arabia is experiencing a cold, snowy winter. Biggest problem...Muslim fathers are make snowmen with their children and that's a Muslim no-no. You can't make human images; salacious, provocative, lewd, etc.

The Atlantic City Race Track (horses) is closing Friday. You probably didn't know they had one. It opened in 1946. Opening day attendees included Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Princess Grace. For the past dozen years it had an off-track betting facility and would have a few days of racing in the Spring with attendance around 12,000. Early day attendance was in the 30,000 to 40,000. To drive by it you would think it was abandoned. Owners cited the lack of interest in horse racing, the economy and the recent closing of 4 casinos. No plans for the property.

That reminds me of something one of my daughters asked when she was about 8 or so. She wanted us to buy her something and we told her that we didn't have the money. So she said "Just write one of those checks." Of course, we then educated her about how checks work.

LOL When my girls were little and I told them I didn't have the money to buy something, they'd say, "go to the bank and get some." They were under impression, you could walk in and ask for whatever amount you wanted. Ha ha If only!!! lol

Hit and run is common occurrence in South Jersey. My guess is the drivers who do this have something else to hide like; DUI, no license, no insurance, warrants, etc.or they were texting.

This morning, our daughter had a ceremony with her class for drug prevention through the D.A.R.E. program. It was really a nice event. Near the end, a slide show of pictures was played synced with music. The first song played was by Whitney Houston. Really? A woman who OD’d in her bathtub was theme music for an anti-drug program? Who will be next year's keynote speak for sobriety - Keith Richards? whistle

I have a ball that is over inflated....sorry, that's another topic. The NFL needs another hot story to keep up the ratings. In another week we will be so sick of this story. New England beat Indy 45-7. I don't think is was a ball issue.

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 01/24/15 09:06 PM

I just found out about this from my son.

When the Metrostars first went into giant stadium they put in soccer field turf. Then the next season the Giants actually cut the artificial grass and made it shorter that they thought would help them in pointy.

So it was shit for soccer.

Everyone does things to favor their own interests.

I think when Ali first fought Foreman them made the ring sag to favor Ali remember the rope a dope.

Shit like this happens all the time in sports.

Just a random story that made me laugh.

Yesterday while listening to the radio the host said he had just interviewed Debbie Reynolds (I think a biography is coming out soon). Anyway, he played short segments of the interview.
He asked about the paparazzi back then and she said it was awful cause they'd be right in front of her house. However, she thought it's probably worse today.

Well, it got to a question about her husband Eddie Fisher and the famous Liz Taylor scandal. She said she had known Liz from somewhere (school maybe). Anyway, she said that when Liz's husband died (She had 8 but I assume Mike Todd), she sent Eddie over to console her. And, she said "boy did he console her. Next time I'll send a card." lol Made me laugh

I always liked her and I certainly remember the cover of every movie magazine having Taylor,Fisher, Reynolds on the cover. Ha ha Then of course not long after covers changed to Taylor/Burton.

When I was a callow youth, many moons ago, I was whacked down below decks whilst playing football (soccer). This was most painful and caused my balls to over inflate to twice their normal size (and they are big to begin with). I had to retire to the hospital to have the fluid taken out via needle. Not one of the most pleasant experiences of my life I have to say.... frown

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 01/26/15 06:42 PM

Yogi, you have an uncanny way of making the grotesque sound palpable. Must be that British panache. "whacked down below decks". Andrew Dice Clay would have said, "ooohww, I got kicked in the nuts. My balls were the size of grapefruits. So I asked the nurse if she would...., and I'd give her some bodily fluids."

Are you easily approachable? Random people come up to me all the time to ask me my opinion or for my help whether I'm at a store or walking on the trail or sitting at a parent meeting. I usually do have the right answer they're looking for but how do they know I know? Does this happen to anyone else?

Some people just have a look about them that makes them approachable. My second wife was like that ..... she had a very friendly face and others (strangers) would always start up a conversation with her.

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 01/31/15 01:25 AM

I get emails everyday showing the viewers' comments on my Epaisan YouTube channels' videos. These ladies chat with one another and a few of them enjoy talking and reminiscing about old times so much that they are now Facebook friends smile That makes me happy.

Other comments are very racist calling Italians derogatory names. I rarely reply back to these losers but when I do I get plenty of back-up from my subs they are happy to comment back at the guy for me. wink Most of the time I just delete the comment.

The latest comment (joke) someone posted on my Italian-American joke video is:
Italians wear gold chains to know where to stop shaving lol

One of my favorite comments is from an old timer from the Bronx.
Ring the doorbell with your elbow. Meaning have your arms so full of food from Arthur Ave. that you have to ring the doorbell with your elbow. lol lol

And one wrote: We always had so much food packed in our fridge we never knew it came with a lightbulb until we went to eat over at a friends house lol

Now someone just wrote a comment on Little Pal those are always depressing.

My dad has been gone almost 48 years, but I never forget how he told me to study hard in school and not be "just a bum like me." He was no bum, but was ashamed that he didn't finish high school. Just because losing his own father at age 9, and being forced to help the younger ones, and when the depression came in '29, he had to go to work. Men like that are a bit more hard to find these days.

This songs so touches my heart. i cry every time.

I now have 563 subs lol lol lol can you believe that

My wife has always attracted people whether adults or kids. I've been with her a number of times when people will approach her and just start talking to her about any number of things.

On the other hand, I seem to attract the "Hey, get away from my kids" type of attention. No kidding. I've experienced some unnerving situations. Well, I guess it's not my pleasing smile.

I know it's NO comparison to anything like NYC, but there is an Italian Festival in San Diego in Oct AND a Sicilian festival in SD in April. I've never been but am talking to my daughters about checking them out. Might be fun. Have you been?

TIS I've been twice to the one in Oct/Nov. I take the train from Fullerton to San Diego get off at the last stop then you just walk a few blocks and you are right in Little Italy. It's nice. You get to hear the music, dancing, eat good food, see the car show, and look at the chalk art. It's a mix of the local Italians, college kids, and tourists. They just never have zeppole cry when I go.
The weather is beautiful down there. Maybe I will go too and see you there.

Maybe you and I should open a booth and sell them. I'd do it in a second. People love them. We'd have the most popular booth at the festa smile

Sounds fun only I've never made them. I only eat them. However, you can make them and I'll strong arm people to come to the booth. lol You know...make them an offer..... panic

lol So funny TIS.

If San Diego was closer I'd seriously consider opening up a booth to sell the zeppole and those bow ties my aunt used to make.

What are you New York Italians like if you don't like food in a restaurant? Would you complain and/or send it back or would you just grin and bear it?

I would just grin and bear it. I don't like making a scene but I think you guys don't give a f*ck and tell it like it is. And that's the way to be!

Am I right?

I've got a couple stories for you but my Dad is from Jersey but hung out in Brooklyn and also Canal St years ago. Let's just say he's a Jersey/NY guy.

When I was little I'd be at an Italian restaurant starting to eat my meatballs and spaghetti and after a few bites my pops would say to us.
Get up we're leaving. This food tastesike shit. Then he'd tell the waiter or owner your food is terrible. We're not coming back.

Then another time I walked in his house he was on the phone and saying Hey Tony you're from NY? Well I'm from Jersey and this is no NY pizza! Your pizza sucks.
He had a pizza delivered from there

There's more stories but you get the point

Ha ha ha ha!! lol I'd be more "grin & bear it." Unless it was really really bad.

I do remember growing up with loud talking tho. When my relatives got together, they'd be in the same room but still yell. Ha ha Nobody seemed soft spoken for the most part. THO I don't consider myself loud. Just everyone else. Ha ha

LA does. It's changed from what I've learned. I've never been to it. It's the San Gennaro festival I'm pretty sure in September.

We usually go to the same places over and over again so we know how the food tastes. I like friendly waiters and if they play music I like that as well.

My kids and my brothers taste is different then mine.

My youngest son invites me to his favorite restraunt in Bay Ridge. I forget the name I think we went on Sunday night.

I read the reviews it said it was a mob wanabe place. People really dress up expensive suits, jewelry they made fun of them in the review.

Well that is how I like to go out. But after reading that I went casual with a leather jacket.

Turns out on Sunday nights that crowd in the review was not there. It was just old people. Since I am an old people that was fine with me.

The food was ok not a place I would go again.

Then my kid picked up the tab. I notice after the waiter said something to him and he gave the guy more money.

Evidently Chris did not give him enough of a tip. This is his favorite restraunt?

If that was me well first it could not have been me because if the food is good and I like the person serving me no one tips more then I do.

But if a waiter had the balls to tell me something like that. He would get a really close look at my fingers as they were entering his eyes.

But nope he thinks I'm like most women who can't find their way out of a bathroom stall. So he doesn't listen to me. He had to make two U-turns and then drove in a circle around the parking lot to park in the exact same space I pointed out in the first place whistle I just smiled my sweet smile when he looked at me. In my mind though I was thinking of a million other not so nice things to say uhwhat wink

Take a look at this photo from the Capone site. Does this look like the character Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire or what?
Do you think they modeled the character after seeing this photo or is it just coincidence?

Wow, that really does look a lot like Jimmy! The face has a lot of similarities with Michael Pitt, and well of course the hair style (also the clothing looks like something Jimmy would wear since Chicago). I really liked Jimmy in the show, to bad the actor is a jerk behind the scenes. By the way I just finished watching the final season last week.

Boardwalk Empire season finale was good. You will not be disappointed. No one becomes a lumberjack ha ha like on Dexter confused

Edit: I did NOT realize that Pitt was difficult to work with. Is that why he is being replaced on that series he is on? I really do not keep up with the Hollyweird stuff or ppl.

It really does look like him, and yeah, I enjoyed the last season (even with the flaws, and the predictable end).

Yeah, from what I heard and read Pitt just acts like a jerk to everyone (so far nobody is coming out to really say that though). But, the fact he was replaced in Hannibal does have smoke to the story.

Also, kind of related do you remember the Lucy character in the first two seasons of Boardwalk? She was another headache to the cast and producers of the show. She was so much of a pain that she was written out of the show near the end of the season, and might be been killed off screen (her daughter in the final season said a weird comment about her real mother).

I think he quit Hannibal because of heavy makeup sessions that they've had to do on his face for season 3,

New actor that replaced him in makeup,

Have to say oldman was great as Manson

That would have to be annoying to do for so long especially for a tv show that is more than 12 episode seasons. Another thing about Pitt and Boardwalk, I remember he was really popular and many thought he would take off after. So, far the only person who is taking off is Jack Huston (Ben Hurr remake and now the Crow).

A-Girl if you ever listen to K-Earth 101, Gary Bryan you probably have heard.

1. The year "The Unforgiven" was released
2. The year Bill Gates Introduced Windows 3.1 lol (sounds so old school now ha ha)
3. The song "Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred.

A goof ball is an up. It gives you a pretty good high. But then to get the same high you need to take two. Etc etc etc

Get hooked on them it's pretty hard to quit.

Major milestone. This past Monday my twin grandkids (Thomas and Callie) were 5 years old. But this is the big milestone. Thomas announced that he wanted to eat a cheeseburger. Meat has never passed his gums. He said it will make him strong (we think he got it from Batman or Spiderman). He wanted one from Wendy's because they have good food. He ate half of it. Up till now most foods made him gag. He does like good things like strawberries, bananas, blueberries, granola bars and of course french fries. His mom freaked out when he came up with a cheeseburger. What could be next?

How cute! 5 year old twins luv it. WOW! Isn't that great he actually TRIED and ate meat. Kids, including my own, are so picky these days I swear. Happy Birthday to your Grandkids I'm sure they are beautiful and fill your heart with joy!!

Here's something to think about--- During my studies on nutrition in college I learned a great deal about kids nutrition. Many parents do not know that from the ages 3-7 kids taste buds are heightened and extremely sensitive. This is why most kids want things plain at those ages. The father plays a very important role in their attitude and consumption of foods. If the father is a picky eater then the kids normally follow his behavior.

Two men who opened fire outside a contest for Prophet Mohammad cartoons in a Dallas suburb were shot dead by police Sunday night, authorities said.

The men drove up to the Culwell Event Center in North Garland, got out of their car and began shooting just as the "Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest" inside was coming to an end, Garland police spokesman Joe Harns said.

An unamed security guard was shot in the leg. He was later treated and released from a hospital.

Police who were helping with security at the event fired back, killing both gunmen, Harns said.

Their identities weren't immediately released.

FBI and local officials were checking on the gunmen's vehicle for explosives, a law enforcement official told CNN. The area around the center was blocked off.

Surrounding businesses, including a Walmart, were evacuated, as were attendees from the Curtis Culwell Center.

CNN producer Chris Lett, who was covering the event, said there were about 40 people at the event when police announced there had been a shooting.

The event, sponsored by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, claimed to have received "over 350 submissions of Muhammad cartoons from all over the world."

It was billed as a freedom of speech event.

MSNBC the progressive socialist channel here in NYC labeled the event planner organization subversive as per another Progressive socialist socialist organization.

No doubt NBC, CNN and other left wing channels will also label it subversive are they?

Are you NYers following that story of the two escaped convicts? Not sure where in NY this prison is but if I live in the state I'd be scared (then again they could be anywhere right?)

Sounds like they got help from within the prison staff. Pretty scary that they haven't found them yet. Both are extremely dangerous. uhwhat

Yes TIS I have been following it. I mean this with all sincerity. When they find these two escapees, I hope they torture both men until they give up the names of everyone who helped them. Then I want to see everyone involved executed. Anyone who helped these murderers is just as dangerous IMO.

I have been looking at their pictures everyday so when out , I would be able to spot them.

I guess im not really that far from where they are. If they got there hands on a ride and did head south East, they would only be a day trip away.

Now I am concerned. Did not think of that, just felt they were really far away.

@MaryCas,

Do you think the people mentioned in this link were guilty of creating segregation and racism? They planned and carried out protests specifically about the treatment of "their people"

http://thehistorybox.com/ny_city/nycity_irate_italians_lyching_discussed_article1078.htm

I completely disagree with the slogan, and whatever methods the BLM are using to achieve whatever it is they are trying to accomplish. I think they dilute their message each time they associate with a case where a violent person is killed by police WHILE engaging in violent behavior.

BLM, due to the nature of what the media deems newsworthy, and because of who is really behind the "so called movement", gets a lot of coverage but local groups who are trying to tackle the TRUE issues (teaching people practical and lifesaving ways to interact with LE AND rooting out the rogue cops who do exist) just get overshadowed.

The groups mentioned in that link I put up were 100% right to be concerned about what was happening to the "their people" and to try to do something about it. I disagree with a lot of what BLM stands for, but how are they different from the first group of people?

G Nets. Tough question, but "guilty of creating"? Though not their intention, it is a result. It seems the human race can't meld together in multi-cultural societies as evidenced by specialized clubs and organization beside the obvious ethnic and nationality-based organizations. We have become a nation of special interests. We can't seem to level the playing field and unify.

Peace.

What did this guy do? He probably use the golf club as his cane. But he also could use it as a weapon if he was jumped. Still he did not swing at that cop [BadWord]. He could have used a real cane and use that at a weapon if he got jumped.

What was the result of this. He should have been let go and the [BadWord] should be suspended and sued for false arrest.

Did you know they hire New York City cops who just went through the accademy to be cops in Seattle. If they are willing to relocate cop base pay out of the academy is about 35 thousand in Seattle it is in the 60s.

AG,

as Foot said...you can't win in a physical confrontation with cops. Blake had his guard down because of what part of the city he was in..and also..because his lifestyle has isolated him from basic rules of survival.

I posted the Blake vid and the one of the older man with the cane because these incidents happened in broad daylight in "progressive" diverse cities.

Speaking of cops beating people up in broad daylight....apparently, now they are beating up White soccer moms.

Woman's name is Cindy Hahn. The location is Carlsbad,CA. You can look up the story but I just posted the raw unedited video. and YES....you do see a cop running out of his car to knee and punch a woman.

Valencia Woman Files Suit Alleging She Was Punched By Police In Front Of Her Kids

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A Valencia woman has sued the city of Carlsbad and several of its officers over allegations that she was pinned to the ground and punched by police in 2013.

Cindy Hahn said the incident on July 31 – a day she calls the worst one of her life – was caught on cellphone video.

The footage Hahn alleges captured her on the ground with one officer on top of her and a second officer repeatedly hitting her in the head.

Hahn says her children screamed and watched from the car. She says her son still talks about it.

“The only thing that he’ll talk to me about is, ‘I couldn’t protect you, Mom. I could’ve. I could’ve got him off you. I could have helped you,’ ” she said.

Hahn is a mother, wife, and daughter of a retired officer.

She says it all started after she asked a Carlsbad police officer what was going on as he stood in front of a car with its doors open and the vehicle’s alarm blaring.

“And he says, ‘Is this your car?’ And I said, ‘No, sir.’ And he says, ‘Then mind your own [expletive] business,’ ” she said.

Stunned, Hahn says she told a man nearby what the officer said and together they decided she should do something about it so she started to take video.

She alleges that the officer continued cursing at her, which led her to call police to report him. She then left.

Moments later, Hahn says that same officer pulled her car over she for a seat belt violation she was told.

Within seconds she says she was pinned to the ground. She alleges that things got more violent when backup arrived. She says the memory still haunts her.

“I can feel hands on me. It’s the weirdest feeling,” she said.

This July, two years later, the San Diego District Attorney dropped felony charges against Hahn for resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer.

Her attorney, Mark Geragos, says the video was all it took.

“Never seen a police tactics expert testify that what you need to do is slug a female in the face,” he said.

Hahn is now suing the city of Carlsbad and the police officers involved. Geragos says they want the police officers fired and reform at the police department.

Hahn’s dad, meanwhile, who is retired now from the San Fernando Police Department says he’s offended by these fellow officers. He says his expertise tells him this never should have happened.

“There was no need to punch her in the face when he ran up on the scene. There was no need to punch her any further. All he did was deliver a lot of punishment that was totally unnecessary,” Mike
Dalton, Hahn’s father, said.

CBS2/KCAL9 reached out to the Carlsbad Police Department several times this weekend, but the department has not yet responded to a request for comment.

The City of Carlsbad, however, issued the following statement:

“The City of Carlsbad looks forward to bringing this lawsuit before the proper judicial authorities as soon as possible. We are prepared to provide a complete and detailed account of the facts of this incident in a courtroom, not in the media.”

In responding to the statement from Carlsbad, Geragos said: “Last time they brought this case in a courtroom the District Attorney dismissed their case … the DA fired them.”

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 10/06/15 06:29 PM

Videos have proven to be the best weapon against police brutality there are. Fighting back against a cop is not a good idea. Even a weak cop can use the law against you. Look at the mentally ill man from Fullerton who was literally beaten to death by cops and a jury found them not guilty.

As for race as a factor, abuse by the police can happen to anyone of any color, but it is clearly proportionately higher for blacks than other races or ethnicity. It is also least likely to happen to Asians, more likely for a poor person than a rich one, and more likely for males than females.

It's also true that, relatively speaking, incidents like these are comparatively rare. Most cops don't go around beating up and abusing people. Ideally there shouldn't be any, but no job can only hire perfect people. People are flawed, and even good and decent people can lose their tempers on bad days. So the best thing to do is to be polite, maintain one's cool, know your rights, and keep a friend with a camera nearby.

F1 and AG,

yes, rogue cops are a small minority of the police force but more than likely they have victimized plenty of people before they get "caught on camera". The guy who bumrushed Blake had/has several civilian complaints against him, for example. And besides the physical encounter...these cops later LIE on official police documents to say that events went the way they claim.
The coward in the last video, beating up a woman who is already being held down by another cop. Where do they find pond scum like that? 1)How come an able bodies cop can't subdue and cuff a woman? 2) what would justify a cop to run out of his car and immediately start kneeing and punching a woman in the face?

photos of the weak cop who couldn't subdue a mother of three by himself, and the fake tough guy who likes punching women

Police officer is a difficult job and some of these people shouldn't be cops . Soccer moms and 70 year old veterans? Who is next?

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 10/09/15 01:46 AM

When I worked at a state hospital we had a lot of very dangerous clients (we didn't call them patients because it was a mental institution) and had frequent takedowns because they would often attack each other or the staff, and we had a duty to keep them safe. When we took them down it required several staff because we had to restrain them in such a way that they wouldn't get injured. It's very easy to break a bone while restraining someone, especially someone who is agitated and fighting. You can even kill someone if you put too much pressure on a person's chest, which can stop a person from getting enough air due to chest compression (that's what happened to Eric Garner -- he wasn't choked to death). So with just one person doing the restraint you are more likely to injure the person being restrained and more likely to get injured yourself. Obviously he shouldn't have punched the lady, but I think they actually teach that it is acceptable to hit people in police academies. That's why Rodney King was repeatedly assaulted with a baton, and why Kelly Thomas was beaten to death. We weren't taught to punch and kick clients -- we'd get arrested for client abuse. Police have powers that most people don't have and are trained that way.

And yes, abusive cops can get away with their abuse for years. The culture of silence is real and it works because corrupt cops can make life miserable for honest ones unless the honest ones have a high enough rank that they can make a difference. Richard Cain f Chicago got away with killing people while he was a cop. Fred Pascente was a total scumbag and when he was interviewed before he died thought what he did was funny. But, believe it or not, things are getting better. Years ago the police had something called "the third degree," which was basically beating confessions out of people. It was legal to shoot a fleeing suspect in the back, even for those doing minor crimes. I recall reading about a couple of detectives who held a suspect out of a window of a high-rise building by the ankles. They lost their grip and the guy fell to his death. Sometimes they beat the wrong person and it ends up biting them in the ass. The famous Detective Joseph Petrosino beat the crap out of Ignazio "Lupo the Wolf" Lupo in 1908. Petrosino didn't know that Lupo was a Mafia boss, the head of what later became the Gambino crime family. All the New York Families got together and decided to kill him. When he went to Palermo to do research in 1909, they succeeded.

I suggest reading this new book by Gerry Spence:

Watch this video how prosecutors in the Department of Injustice screw people so they can advance themselves. Much of what you think you know about Enron and other companies isn't necessarily what really happened because prosecutors feed prejudicial info to the media. This has been going on for years. Rudy Giuliani did the same thing when he was a federal prosecutor. They falsely claim legal violations and prosecute big names so they can advance their own careers. If they can get away with doing this with rich people and big companies, how much worse is it for the poor?

More prosecutorial misconduct. The Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, district attorney conducted partisan raids against supporters of Gov. Walker. Hardly any news coverage at all, but a major story.

The Innocence Project. Many people wrongly convicted. Happens to men and women of any race and any class. Prosecutors can and will go after anyone and many judges let prosecutors do what they want, and rarely is misconduct punished.

The Duke lacrosse case. A prosecutor, Mike Nifong, out to make a name for himself, tried to put the Duke team in prison for decades based on flimsy evidence and bad witness (a prostitute who later murdered her boyfriend). The students were found innocent and Nifong was found guilty of misconduct and his law license was taken away and he was sentenced to a single day in jail. If he got away with what he wanted to do, the students could have been sent to prison for most of their lives, but only got a day in jail.

How the Obama administration tried to shut down the Gibson Guitar Company (maker of the Gibson Les Paul and other big name and highly desirable guitars) because it donates to Republican causes allegedly because it purchased endangered wood (it didn't). Meanwhile, rival Martin Guitar Company, which uses the same exact wood and is a big Democratic donor, was left alone. Gibson was forced to pay $350,000 to settle or be run out of business.

BF and F1,

There was no more of straight laced, by the book, follow the rules guy than I was raised to be. My father feared no man but he was visibly afraid of the State. If you guys have ever heard/read about the Tonton Macoute in Haiti, you know that they make the worst cops in America look like Officer Friendly.

So anyway, I was raised to follow the law, keep nose clean, etc.

When cops or the legal system turns tables on you and treat you like a criminal or threaten your life/freedom it kind of shakes the foundation of what you believe.

Posted By: Faithful1

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 10/25/15 05:08 AM

The Tonton Macoute probably have their closest counterparts in the Gestapo or the Russian or East German secret police. At least the USA isn't there yet.

In the USA there has always been the problem of prosecutors who were more interested in furthering their careers than in pursuing justice. Rarely do they get called out on these cases. A lot of the big cases of American history involved legal abuses and miscarriages of justice. Al Capone's tax evasion trial that sent him to prison actually should have been dismissed because the statute of limitations had passed, but the judge ignored it. In the Lucky Luciano case, Tom Dewey did things that were illegal to obtain a conviction. More recently in the Enron case, prosecutors went after everyone when it was only a couple people who actually did criminal wrongdoing. So it doesn't matter if you're black or white or rich or poor, if a prosecutor wants to get you and that prosecutor is only interested in furthering his or her career, you're probably going to lose and spend time in prison even if you did nothing wrong. That's why I'll keep my trust in God and not in our corrupt legal system.

More on Ricky Ball case:

October 28, 2015 5:57:06 PM

The three Columbus police officers involved in the shooting death of Ricky Ball were equipped with body cameras but none of the cameras had been activated prior to or during the Oct. 16 shooting.

The officers involved in the shooting were Canyon Boykin, Johnny Branch and Yolanda Young, according to Raymond Hackler, public information officer with the Columbus Police Department. Authorities have previously stated that the three officers have been placed on indefinite leave pending the results of investigations into Ball's death.

Hackler sent out a press release Wednesday afternoon that contained more details about the incident.

The release states that authorities recovered a 9mm handgun "within arm's reach" of Ball after he had been shot. That 9mm, authorities say, had been reported stolen in August from the residence of a Columbus police officer.

Ball, 26, was a passenger in a vehicle CPD attempted to pull over at approximately 10:08 p.m. on Oct. 16, near 22nd Street North and 15th Avenue North. Police Chief Tony Carleton has said the stop was initiated because of careless driving, no light above the license plate and lack of insurance.

"When the suspect vehicle stopped, the passenger, Ricky Ball, jumped out of the car and attempted to flee," Hackler's release states. "Officers attempted to arrest Ball which resulted in gunfire."

Authorities have not said what led to the gunfire. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant has told The Dispatch that Ball was shot twice -- once in the upper body, once in the lower body.

"Officers lost sight of Mr. Ball following the shooting," the release states.

Authorities discovered Ball about 10:30 p.m. between two houses along 14th Avenue North, approximately a block and a half from the vehicle he had been riding in.

"A handgun and suspected illegal narcotics were found beside where Mr. Ball had collapsed," the release states.

Authorities say the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is conducting forensics on both the weapon and suspected narcotics to determine if Ball ever possessed the items.

Ball was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, where he was pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m. Friday. Merchant has said he died of blood loss.

The release Hackler put out Wednesday evening stated that only one camera recorded events "approximately 30 seconds after the shooting."

"All of the videos recorded that night by CPD have been turned over to MBI investigators," the release states.

Authorities say an "unauthorized civilian ride-along passenger" was in the vehicle with the CPD officers who initiated the traffic stop. That person's name is Alisha Stanford, according to CPD. Her presence was not explained in Hackler's release.

Authorities also identified the driver of the car Ball was riding in as Shannon Brewer. Authorities have not said if she was arrested or issued citations.

The release states that the firearm discovered near Ball that night was a Taurus 9mm. It was one of seven firearms reported stolen from a CPD officers Columbus home on Fourth Street North. Five of the weapons were stolen from the residence on Sept. 14. Two of the weapons -- including the 9mm found near Ball -- were stolen from the residence on Aug. 5, according to Hackler's release

Kirk Douglas was always one of my favorite actors. But the story about him and Natalie Wood was not good. No one has ever denied it happened. You would think his son would, but as far as I know he never did.

The best movie I ever saw him in was the champion. That movie and a lot of others kicked ass. Anyone ever saw the movie where he fought a one armed man in a Mexican bar. Wow

My wife and I went to Vegas to celebrate my birthday (we went a few days early to avoid the New Years crowd). We stayed in downtown Vegas, near Fremont (I prefer the downtown area to the Strip).

The hotel we stayed at was right across the street from the Mob Museum, so of course I had to go! Definitely worth the price of admission for anyone interested in mob history (and who isn't on this site?!). Chances are you won't learn anything new, but there are a lot of really cool displays and artifacts (Gotti's white suit, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre wall, among others). My favorite exhibit was the courtroom in which the Vegas portion of the Kefauver hearings were held. There are ghosts in that room, for sure.

The only downside is that it is always crowded. It's hard to admire some of the stuff on display when there are so many people around. Still, well worth it. I'll definitely be going back.

According to a new survey, nearly half the US population (47 percent) are unsure about where chocolate milk comes from. Seven percent believe that chocolate milk comes to us from brown cows. Yes, of the last 100 people you’ve seen, spoken to, had brunch with, 7 of them are under the impression that chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Sorry to burst the chocolate milk bubble, but this is not how chocolate milk works.

The survey was conducted in April by Undeniably Dairy, a group within the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy that represents family dairy farmers.

I attended Catholic School from 4th - 7th grade when I live in MI. I found it much harder than public school. Unlike many who HAVE attended Catholic school, I can't say I have any memories of nuns smacking your hands with a yardstick or such. lol

My school, Our Lady Of Sorrows, named same as the church, was an Italian parish. My parents got married there, I was baptized and married there as were my sibling and relatives. They had a yearly Italian festival (we called it "The Feast."

As time went on, many people moved away or attended other parishes. As of now it still exists and still looks beautiful. However, I'm told as soon as the current Priest retires, they will use the church for something else. frown Last I knew the school was still there. Btw, it was a very very small, 4 classroom school. LOL I think there were 3 grades per room with maybe 30 students (at least when I went there.)

Last night I saw a dollar charge on my two discover cards. I started to dislike that card. I never look at interest rates just pay it. Then by accident I saw the rate of interest on my wife card. I told them why is the interest so high on my wife's card. Her credit score is 790. They gave me a bull shit answer. So the next day I paid off her card. I told them I will pay off my card as well. My interest rate on mine is 11 percent. But because the interest they charged to my wife I paid off my card as well. Last night I saw the 1 charge they do it that before companies make a charge. I have not used the cards after I paid them off. I saw the charge was from Seattle. I don't buy shit from the west coast. Discover you can freeze the account so I froze both accounts. This was a debit card so it took out the cash as soon as the guy or girl made the transactions. I filled out a form to get my cash back. You should get a Citi card. They have the best rewards program and will debit the difference on your account if another store has the same item(s) you purchased for less money. American Express and Citi cards are what I use when purchasing tickets for concerts. They give you the better seats and deal during the presages. JetBlue has a card I use to purchase my airline tix but that went from 0% to like 12% so I have to pay it off right away. It gets me my miles so I like it. Have 20k miles to use for my trip this year. smile Best day to travel I notice is Friday the 13th. lol

As far as putting money in the bank, its a fn joke. I have a rate of 1.4% which is hilarious because I remember getting 7.75% not too long ago. Stock market is the way to go. ROTH IRA best.

You know what I hate? People who put other people on the spot and ask if they can borrow money.

Some prick my girlfriend works with asked for 20 off her and, she, being the kind of person who finds it hard to say no, gave it to him and he promised he would give it back on "Thursday".

9 times out of 10 people like this have no intention of paying money back.

Now I'm going to have to throw my weight around if he starts making excuses on Thursday.

Some people are so fucking weak and slimy.

No matter how desperate my financial circumstances were I would never dream of asking to borrow money off someone, unless they were a lifelong friend or close family member; I have too much self respect.

So fucking slimy.

Both countries are preparing for the worst situation they could face in the midst of deteriorating relations. In addition, Indian Navy has sent three warships to the disputed South China Sea to plan training with Malaysian Navy, showing that there’s nothing strange with seeing any military conflicts between the two countries.

Of course, China is also preparing for the worst. According to military sources in Beijing, China has deployed more troop along the India border, showing off its will to respond immediately if the worst really happens."

Just got back from Pittsburgh. Drove straight through in 21 hrs. No problems. Ate yesterday near Heinz Field at Jerome Bettis' restaurant. Not bad.

Visited the old neighborhoods; Pittsburgh has changed. Alot of it has gentrified. Stayed at the new Indigo hotel in East liberty. It is one cool hotel.

I have a 4 month old great nephew. He's 22 lbs. already. Wears a 9 months old clothes. Family is doing great. Love it all!

NEW YORK — Worries rippled through the consumer market for antivirus software after the U.S. government banned federal agencies from using Kaspersky Labs software on Wednesday.

Best Buy and Office Depot said they will no longer sell software made by the Russian company, although one security researcher said most consumers don’t need to be alarmed.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security cited concerns about possible ties between unnamed Kaspersky officials and the Kremlin and Russian intelligence services. The department also noted that Russian law might compel Kaspersky to assist the government in espionage.

Yes, I remember firsts discovering this site, just by Googling The Godfather. I browsed a day or two but very quickly joined.
In particular, I remember Sunday nights were ALWAYS extra busy because that was "Sopranos" night. lol That thread was hopping. wink Not to mention I've met both on-line and off, some very very nice people.

Times change I guess but I'll continue to pop in to see what's going on. This site will always be special.

I'm pretty young, compared to Douglas at least, the only thing I've seen him in is a Tales from the Crypt episode with his deceased son Eric. It's very good, and the circumstances of Eric's death make it pretty poignant.

The episode is called "Yellow".

Re: Random Post Whoring (2015-) - 12/11/17 07:23 PM

By Charles Krauthammer

I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called "Organizing for Action" (OFA).

OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current president’s administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws?

If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America!

Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration's top dogs over to Organizing for Action.

OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution.

OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for "progressive" change. Its issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform.

OFA members were propped up by the ex-president's message from the shadows: "Organizing is the building block of everything great we have accomplished Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2017 and beyond.”

OFA's website says it obtained its "digital" assets from the ex-president's re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it is the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as AMERICA.

Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, “The OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.”

Sperry writes that, “The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide. The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/ office in Washington DC.

Think about how this works.. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president's signal that he is heartened by the protests.

If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years.

If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.

So, do your part. You have read it, so at least pass this on so others will know what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a "PERFECT TARGET" for our enemy!

I wonder how many of these women basically had consensual sex in exchange for favours with the man and regretted it.

Being pressured into having sex is not rape for fuck sake.

Lucie Evans met him in a club, and then was allegedly forced to give him head in his office.

How did she get from the club to the office? Did he kidnap her? Why did she go to his office? For a little quid pro quo?

People usually hook up in clubs, no?

The more details I hear about accusations from e.g. Paz De La Huerta and Rose McGowan, it sounds like they had sex with him and regretted it. De La Huerta met up with Weinstein again after the first alleged rape. Why?!

I don't like saying all this because the man is a creep, but you can't conflate pressuring with rape.

Our chick, Susan Sarandon, said these women knew full well what they were getting themselves into with Weinstein.

If a producer, regardless of gender, invited me up to their hotel room, I would be asking serious questions about it.

If a producer, regardless of gender, opened their hotel room door in their bathrobe, I would turn around and leave.

In what other profession do business meetings take place in hotel rooms?

I'm sorry, but if I was on the jury, I would be very much on the fence regarding the charges levelled against Weinstein.

Being a pervert isn't a crime.

I have more to say re: Weinstein, but for now, I just have to say that I got my ass grabbed by a girl in a pub tonight while I was walking to the bar, and it actually felt nice, but, at the same time I would never even contemplate doing that to a woman.

Double standards!

https://theblast.com/harvey-weinstein-melissa-thompson-accuser-grope-video/

Quote

The Blast has obtained an image from the video tape showing Thompson’s mouth agape as Weinstein rubs her arm in the privacy of his office. At one point in the video, Weinstein sticks his hand up her skirt while asking her to continue speaking. When she stops his advances up her thigh, he retracts and decides to rub her arm.
She claims to have been able to ward off his advances at the time, but during a second meeting later that night, Thompson claims Weinstein brutally raped her in his hotel suite.

Let me get this straight. She says she was sexually assaulted by him, yet she met him a second time THAT NIGHT of her own accord.

You would swear these women want to have sex with him...

P.S. Who has a business meeting at night?

Today I googled a number that turned out to be the "Butler Grain and Cattle Co" from Indiana? They left no message but called twice within an hour. lol Why me, I have no idea. I never heard of them. If they wanna send me some free steak I'm good with that tho. That's about as close as I get to cattle. lol

Whenever I get spam phone calls, I always block the number. But some of these companies have so many numbers that they'll continue to call. Finally after a while I would listen to the automated message and speak with someone. As soon as I get a live person I'll tell them to remove me from their list and they'll immediately hang up on me. I have no idea what company it is but this kind of harassment has got to be illegal. Especially when you request for them to stop calling. I'm sure they hang up so quickly so they can continue to call you. So frustrating and annoying!

http://www.thejournal.ie/asia-argento-hush-money-sexual-assault-4190741-Aug2018/

Apparently Asia Argento, who was Harvey Weinstein's booty call for over five years after he "raped" her, is a pedophile who tried to hush up her sexual abuse of an underage actor, Jimmy Bennett.

Makes you reconsider some of the charges against Weinstein when you see just how unstable people like Argento and McGowan are.
