Nir Rosen, the far-left journalist who joked about the sexual assault on Lara Logan, has company: Debbie Schlussel, the extreme right-wing commentator. Rosen calls for the elimination of Israel, and is a pro-Hamas Hezbollah apologist; Schlussel is a racist anti-Muslim commentator. They come from radically different places on the political spectrum, and yet they share a common inhumanity....

The amazing thing is, Logan isn't even Jewish. Which just goes to show that, to the extremists, ALL Americans are Jews. So going by their logic, we should all be attacked for it. That's why we should NEVER, EVER waver in our support of Israel. They're as important an ally as any other that we have.

That is simply awful!! This poor woman was repeatedly attacked/raped. It's not something that's her fault, or to be taken lightly.

It is sickening and disgusting, I don't care what someone's politics are. They should find the culprits and emasculate them IMHO. The lefties and righties should cease fire on this issue.

Rosen explains his apology here. Of course he does not back down from taking shots at Logan so is it really an apology if you simultaneously say here's why I did it?
Schussel , who unfortunately went to U-M and is a local stain, will likely not apologize.

How a woman's rape can divide a nation politically is beyond fucking belief . It makes me more and more apolitical. There's only one "side" here. The side of decency.

Rosen is the one who should be raped. And I don't mean by one of those double-headed rubber things, either. I mean anally violated by a 300 pound inmate somewhere. Give the guy some incentive, offer him a sentence reduction.

There should be nothing political about so violent and so personal attack. This poor lady went through hell and I feel very badly for her.

BTW, I never heard of her til now and know nothing about her politics but that has nothing to do with the brutal attack. Am I correct in assuming the attackers (20 I heard if you can imagine) will likely not be found let alone tried. Is that possible???

I knew the dumbing down of "political commentary" was in effect on TV, but didn't know it reached quite those depths in non mainstream magazines.

I read somewhere today that CBS sat on the incident and didn't report it for 4 or 5 days. Can someone adequately explain the logic behind this? I mean, I could see it if they were ashamed of something SHE did (like in a scandal of some sort). But she was the victim here, so why would they hide this tragedy? I heard one defense that was akin to the "protecting of a rape victim's identity" school of thought. Not that I necessarily disagree with that on a privacy level for Lara's sake, but I just don't buy it (when I consider this was CBS who sat on it).

IF CBS withheld the story for the sake of their employee's privacy, I applaud them for that.

Sure, this story is newsworthy, but I think the woman's privacy in light of the nature of this crime is paramount.

Yeah I applaud CBS for holding back on this. Now Lara Logan will FOREVER be known as a rape victim. I have nothing but the deepest sympathy for Lara Logan and her family, but I'd rather be known for having a micropenis.

There was a time when CBS was THE news bureau!! When Bill Paley ran the network and Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite did the news. That was a LOOOOONG time ago, though. You're right ~ they're ALL questionable now.
