I was going to call him a fun-sucker, but, given the context, that just didn't sound right.

My daughters refer to me as the fun-sucker. And one day, when she was about 11, my younger one said, "You suck the fun out of everything, Mom. That's why we call you the sun-fu**er!" She froze in her tracks and turned a very bright shade of red. We all laughed so hard that we cried.

I never heard the term "fun sucker". I'll bet you can't say it 3 times real fast without messing up.
