I liked SC's suggestion in RPW about starting a new thread devoted to various surveys/questionnaires, so that we can have a place to share our responses with one another. It's a fun way to get to know each other better, and sometimes can provide a deeper look at people than we previously knew, so if you're interested, post your answers, or even start a new set of questions for others to answer.

Now I don't like how I worded the question...haha There are only two friends that I feel especially close to, and that I trust with my deeper thoughts and feelings, and I've known both for 5 years. I've always had trouble opening up about serious stuff, but I've found I can talk to them. I feel closest to my cousin, though, because we're the same age and grew up together. And it's my parents and brother that I feel I can trust and depend on the most.

It seems my mom's taught me lots of specific things, while my dad's taught me the more general, but both have passed on life lessons

I think I've only seen true snow once, and it was barely enough to make a snowball; summers are horribly wretched, but I don't think I'd trade it

My teddy bear "Old Spank," which my grandma gave to me when I was first born; I have another stuffed animal that is the very same bear, but is named "New Spank," because he's in the original condition; after years of love, Old Spank is quite a bit more worn...I took him around everywhere, brought him on every family trip, even would bring him out to the kitchen to feed him breakfast some mornings when I was little

I think we should have a thread dedicated to each quiz. Number them; Quiz 1, Quiz 2, etc. That way, all replies in one thread will have the same questions, and only the answers will be different. You might say it'll clutter General Discussion, but this forum's been a bit slow of late anyway.

That's a good idea. All these different surveys are getting a little difficult to follow in the current manner. Perhaps we should keep them titled "Getting to know you" and then simply add the next number of the survey (i.e. Getting to know you #14) to the new thread.

I wish I could transfer individual posts to different threads but the software here won't allow that.

Yes, and no. I think a lot depends upon the individual's posting style. The simple "yes" and "no" responses obviously add some info but much more info can be garnered by reading the comments that some have included in their responses (including those making jokes OR those attempting NOT to answer the question).

Regardless, I'm finding these surveys to be very revealing AND a lot of fun.

It is confusing. I am seeing surveys I hadn't noticed before. I know I missed some of them. Not so much taking them, but reading the replies. We are taking these surveys so quickly that it's hard to comment on some people's answers because we'd get behind. Some fun and are worth commenting on no? So many surveys, so little time. Life is a bitch isn't it?

I'd be happy to kick each new thread off. People can either copy & paste their posts in here to the appropriate thread, or re-answer them (I find my answers change depending on my mood; which in itself is perhaps telling of my "personality").

It'd be easier to follow the question and following replies in separate threads, so I suggest a new thread for each different survey. If you have another one waiting in the wings, it should be posted as a new thread perhaps titled "Getting to Know You #14".

I don't even know how many of these "surveys" we have. Have there been more than 4?

I think a separate thread for each may be good. I have no idea if that is using too much space or a waste in terms of Geoff's/SC's job goes.

Anyway, to be able to comment more on each survey, be it joking around and teasing, (which I like to do) or just inquiring, really does give us the opportunity to know each other better, right? Of course, some may want to remain more anonymous but that's their option.

SC, our first cat's litter box was in our bathroom. That freaking beeyotch would wait until I was in the shower with shampoo in my hair, and then come in and take a dump. I'd be DYING from the freaking smell. Those were some of the shortest showers I've ever taken.

I can finally join the cat-litter club with you and SB. (Doesn't that sound fun?) Since we moved, we've been afraid to leave them outside at night, so we keep them in the garage or indoors with litter boxes, and it's been quite the adventure getting used to that. Tiger feels it necessary to dig to the very bottom of the box, as though he's looking for treasure (or leaving it), and to make it as vague as I can, that makes the litter pretty much useless. Angie seems to enjoy meowing once she's finished her business, as though she wants to announce her success. And I once walked by to see Tiger watching Angie in the box. What a perv!

When we got Stella my girls swore that they'd take care of cleaning the litter box. What a sucker I was.

Stella's really strange, though. I will find the box dirty, but have rarely seen her use it. I don't know if she waits for us to go to bed, and then spends the night in there or what.

I took a picture of Tiger last night that I meant to share with you guys here. He lies on my computer desk, perfectly curled around the keyboard (except when he gets too comfortable and stretches out onto a few keys). I even clean the darn desk for him when it's messy because it's become our tradition for him to be there. He hangs over the edge, and I'll play with him with feathers or a pencil or cat toy, tickling his paws and belly, and he just goes nuts. He has an extra toe on each paw, so they're huge and mitten-like, and he'll swipe at me and get all worked up about it. He's even fallen off a few times when he reached too far over, which I have to laugh at.

I think this thread should be locked and stickied; it's a good way of newcomers settling in and finding their bearings.

Don't know what locked & stickied but is, but right now it is a little overwhelming with all these threads, yet it is fun.
I think the fact that the first 15 topics are these threads, and you need to search if you're looking for a certain thread. but it won't always be. I don't object at all to these topics though, so I'll let the experts iron it out.

It'd just be at the top of the General Discussion page, but people wouldn't be able to post in it, it'd just be a list of links, for future reference (it's fun, if you're answering these seriously, to look back in months or years and read what you wrote in the past, and how much your thoughts have changed).

You don't really have to use the search feature to see any other recent threads. And if you want to see older threads, you'd still have to search anyway, even without these surveys.

At worst, the thread you were recently keeping an eye on is now on page 2 of General Discussion. A click of the mouse away.
