That's what I said. When I heard it on the news yesterday, I asked myself, "how does that add to the story or his character?" Really, what grand fan needed that bit of information to make his world complete
I saw a headline "Dumbledore is Gay" the other day on CNN site, and said to myself who the hell is that? I would have never known who/what you were talking about if I hadn't just read the story. Never having seen Harry Potter, I'll add a be who cares also.
Yeah i know! When i saw this over the week-end i said to my wife "Why has she done this now that the books are finished?" It makes no sense to me? But there again, not a lot does at the best of times
It's really kind of silly. If she was trying to make a statement, why didn't she just make the character gay in one of her books? Is she doing this now because sales are slacking? PUHLEEEEZE!! She's the wealthiest writer in history. I don't get it either.
So old Dumbledore was an aging Queen...who knew? I guess we all should have, what with those flowing robes and all the regalia with which he surrounded himself.
Now the question is who was he boffing? Snape or Hagrid?
All I have to say is it is done for publicity. Like it has been posted, there is no reason for that to be necessary for the novels.
I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the movies, but I can't imagine why the author came out with such a statement unless she has some political/social agenda to further.
I read the first and second books to my kids when they were younger, and forget many of the characters. Grindelwald must have appeared in the later books. Who was he?
Also, (and here's a dumb question) Dumbledore was the headmaster of the school, right?
