The book is fantastic, it definitely compares with the godfather, though it might not be quite as good. The film was shockingly bad, which is quite unfitting because the book was so good, they just changed loads of the story line for no reason! someone should make a remake.

Oh man, gutted as fuck mate. The film is terrible. Probably one of the worst films i've sat through all the way through. What made it even worse was I paid for it. It was only a few sods though so it wasn't expensive.

The book is one of the best books i've ever read. I've said this time and time again. The only thing I can say is. I hope the film hasn't ruined your chances of reading the book and put you off forever. I couldn't blame you if it did. But I will say if you do have the courage to put the film behind you, read the book. I'm pretty confident if you liked the Godfather this book will be to your enjoyment.

See Turi!

I hopre for a remake too, the actors were great, but they messed the story up totally. If you're interested in Michael Corleone in Sicily, Peter Clemenza, and Vincenzo Pentangelli, you can find them in the Godfather! Domenick Clemenza is Vincenzo Pentangelli.

I never ddi understand why the movie picke dup on the line OBEY ME! In the movi eTuri MAKES Aspanu kill him! In the book, Turi is suprised and brutally murdered in church by his firend Aspanu, maybe they couldn't fin a church willing to have a murder filmed in it. I don't knwo why tehy made TerraNova the bad guy, and Passatempo the good guy, it wa sthe other way asround. Tempo was traitor and Nove was murdered outside his girlfirend's home. Canio SIlvestro survived, and that's about ti. We're introduced to Silvio Ferra from the start, and we already know Justina is Turi's Fiancee. MUCH was cut from Book to fit into Movie. The names Corleone/Andolini/Clemenza, etc. were trademarked by Paramount. Redheaded El Diablo Fra Diavolo became a little 12 year old kid who'll "kick yer arse"!

this book for me, as a native of sicily, was an important one. it was well written and well researched. puzo brought to the forefront a real life hero and put it into words that every man can understand. i personally feel that it is better than the godfather book. the movie was the worst portrayal of sicilians since "the leopard" starring burt lancaster. sicilians do not speak in english accents!!! puzo sold the rights to this book for cash and can no longer make a film bearing the same content. it is a shame because i think that it is a natural companion to the godfather as it tells a little of michaels story while in sicily. it is also a real story, not fiction. there have been many movies made about turi but they are all in italian and cannot be found in america. great book.

Whiel in Sicily in the 1940's Michael Corleone is asked by his father, Vito, to bring a Sicilian Bandit named Salvatore Giuliano back to America with him. Sal Giuliano became a bandit for the love of his people and to defend himself from CARBINIERI (Italian Police). Giuliano survives without the Mafia, but they are eager to have him on their side rather than the Carabineri. All Giuliano wants is to be free, and the Corleones try to get him into America, but it was not to be.

Michael Corleone guest-stars in this tale of the Sicilian Robin-Hood. Vito Corleone and Peter Clemenza make guest appearances, and we meet a Sicilian relative of one of the well-known Godfather Family members.

Ricardo, you should be writing the book jackets... or is that where you took that info from? If not, nicely done!
