Lion King vs. Scarface.

Lion King vs. Scarface. - 02/27/07 09:49 AM

I just watched Disneys (C) Lion king yesterday, and i noticed something that probaly is pretty silly.
The way they portrayd (sorry spelling) the caracter "Scar" (theres ofcourse the name), kinda remind me of Tonys caracter in scarface. "Scar" has a scar the exact same place in the face as Tony, but also the way of getting to the top, by wiping out Mufasa (simbas dad)being a respected lion , and then dying in the end, falling out a cliff (tony falls out the balcony in SF)..
This migth just be me, but i kinda hope that the designers of Lion king, made a tribute to Scarface. In so case, thank you Disney (C)

(Disney is a copyright trademark, and may not be used to make fun at )

I think you're reading into it WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much man. Of course a man who has a scar is going to have to have it readily visible (i.e. the face). Secondly, he "wiped" out his brother to be king and then Simba wipes him out to be king. It's the ageless story of good vs evil. And finally, yes Scar fell off of a cliff. Sorry, Simba hadn't gone through his John Rambo training yet (Disney saved that for Lion King 2), so he wasn't able to slit his throat with a knife, torture him to death, or "bust a cap in his a$$!"

Hey hey hey.... This is not a statement, just a theory (sorry spelling).... Its just fun man, and isent that what forums are for?? So i dont see why your all going crasy about a theory...

I found this on imdb, trivia for Lion King:

The scar on Scar's face is in exactly the same place as it is on Al Pacino's character Tony Montana in the movie Scarface (1983).

Ok you've got me. I always believe everything I read too. So I guess Jafar in Aladdin represents Don Vito Corleone from The Godfather. Hey, you never know

He he, thanks a lot Brwne Byte.
I just see this forum as a place for ideas and silly thougts.
A place where people with the same thougts can get them out of there system, and mix with othere people who migth have some of the same ideas. When i first found this forum i was thrilled to read all the intelligent threads that are posted here. So after reading and wieving for about two years, i decided to make an acount.
But i just think that some people may have been in here to long, and are beginning to think that they have all the rigth answears. That i see as a dangerous, and sad development in human behavior. I´m not only talking about this thread, but i see it more and more all over the forum. Most of the "oldschollers" in here, are really freindly and really helpfull, but there are a few couple of rotten aples.
This is just my opinion, think of it what you wish.

I never said I had all the right answers, but I'm sorry, I just found this thread to be too hilarious. Speaking of which, you know you never backed me up with my Jafar and The Godfather connection. Come on, I thought we were supposed to have each others backs?

I'm trying to understand your humor. Can you explain how Mama Corleone is likened to an Afro-American?

Well it´s pretty hard to explain. In Denmark, when something is far out, and dosent make any sense at all, well then its funny.
It probarly sounds stupid to you, but again, "Culturel Diferencies"...

No, those that have been here for a long time, don't think that they have all the right answers. It's just that they've seen a lot of new members come and go.

You find in this thread, you stay loyal you move up and you move up fast. You know what a haza is? It's Yiddish for pig. It's a guy he's got more' posts n what he needs, so he don't fly straight anymore, y'know. That's the problem in this thread sometimes, there's too many 'hazas' posting here and they're the ones you got to watch out for. See it all comes down to one thing, never forget it! Lesson number one -- don't under-
estimate the other guy's knowledge.

Re: Lion King vs. Scarface. - 03/01/07 08:15 PM

Scarface to me reminds me of anchiant (spelling) Egyptian grandure. You know, riches, gold (found everywhere in Tony's place) decadence and high status like the Pharohs had.

To me, Tony Montana makes me think of a Pharoh, a proud and powerful one, who expresses his taste for fine things. And Elvira, like his queen. She could be Cleopatra of Nefriti(sp).

She, the majestic queen of Egypt is revered for her beauty and status.

Tony is a tragic pharoh, like Ramses. Ramses thought he was a god;that he had all the power. And so he didn't believe in God or the power of God. He made many sins, and revelled in his gold and riches, until one day, his sins caused him to lose his family and everyone he loved. They were all killed by the plage that God brought upon them (or in Tony's case, karma did it.) And so, in the end Ramses dies alone,in sin. Like Tony!

Now, I'm not an avid Bible reader, but that's just what I connect it with.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.

Woow! that´s some cool shit.. That´s what i mean. A movie/book/ a piece of music/art, have different effects on us, and we make different conclusions, and comparisons. For me, its interresting to hear other peoples ideas, and perspectives, just like the one wrtitten by Brw Byte here. The reasons for creating this post, was that i thougth other people migth be interested in hearing my idea, or to start a debate, which i think is acomplished. I do see the silly, and absurde in comparing scarface with lion king, but i also see the funny perspective in it.

Thank you, Antihero. Obviously, some people just don't get the concept of using your IMAGINATION. I mean, unless they agree with you, well then your ideas are stupid. Well for you nit-pickers out there, I want to ask something. If you think you know more then we do, then why don't you share some or YOUR bright ideas. I'm sure they are much better than mine.

I have some problems with expressing my self in english langues, but what you wrote there´was almost like taken out of my mind, and it made me really happy, so thanks a lot!

Imagination!! Exactly! Without imagination, where would all the good things in life bee?.. They would never have been here.
I think that life is all about getting ideas, and move on with them, never ever being afraid of trying, and never ever let anyone keep you down, with their selfhateres, and bitternes. In Denmark we have something called "Janteloven". It´s a concept taken from a book, and its something that classifie the most danish people.
One of the "Rules" is that nobody should think that they are better then you, and if someone tryes, you should do anything in your power to keep them down.

I Hate Janteloven, and try to avoid it in any way. But i gues Denmark is not the only country with janteloven.. So my message is, never let anybody step on your ideas and your plans with life, the only reason thay are doing it, is either jealousi (spelling sorry), or bitternes...

I aree. I'm gonna say(type) what I want to say(type) and it does not matter who don't like it or thinks it's stupid. Bottom line: IT'S HARMLESS, AND IT'S FICTION. There is no law that says that things have to be said (r thought of)in a certain way, escpecially whan that thing is a 20-year-old MOVIE called Scarface.

There is no reason for sarcastic smarty pants (Irishman12) to ridicule it.

As SC has already pointed out above, once you make a post here on the boards your ideas become fair game to others to voice their opinions about what you posted. Does that mean that someone has the right to make a personal attack against the poster? Absolutely not. Does it mean that someone has the right to question the content of what you've posted or comment by giving their own opinion on the topic? Absolutely.

I haven't seen anyone make any personal attacks here and for the most part the replies that have been made here are in direct response to the subject itself and the idea presented.

So if you want to make posts that represent your opinion about something, then grow some thicker skin and be prepared to see others posting that they disagree with what you've posted or question why you see somethng the way that you do.

When Tony aims his gun at the shark, he says, "say hello to my little friend", and then Martin is all like, "You can't take it alone Tony!!! We're a team!!" But Tony ain't hearing it.

Antihero,

I've been pretty tolerant and patient with you. But now I'm telling you straight out : ENOUGH already with the sarcastic and provocative bullshit posts! End it.

Seriously, a great premise, bogey. If you can't find a screenwriter, just let me know.

I predict it'll be a smash!

Alright, this gettin' old now. I'm outta ideas... Antihero, don't worry about it suga! Get yourself a journal and record all yer ideas in there. You'd make a good fanfic writer, too.

Sooooo...because you're out of ideas...no one else can come with any?

And what, pray tell, makes Antihero's ideas better than the Citizen Kane idea? Hmmmmmmmm???

Who are you to tell me to not post my ideas? If I want to talk about Citizen Kane and Scarface, I fucking will.

Well Antihero, it's quite obvious that you haven't read the part of the rules that explain that you are not allowed to quote someone else and edit what they said by adding your own words to their quote.

If I were you, I'd start packing because from the look of things, you're on the road to winning yourself a free vacation.
