Bosch (2015 TV)

Bosch (2015 TV) - 02/15/15 06:49 AM

This TV series is produced by Amazon and shows on Amazon Prime; looks like the first 10 episodes went live Friday.

The series centers around an LAPD detective who is facing a civil trial for shooting an unarmed suspect. At the same time, he's investigating a skeleton found that is a small boy who was abused and beaten, then buried in the woods some 25 years earlier.

A bit dark and cliched, but a notch above the crime dramas on network TV. for fans of The Wire, there are some familiar faces.

He goes after people who abuse kids right?

I saw the pilot a while back. I got from it that what drives him was he might of been abused as a kid himself.

Did I get this wrong?

A lot of things pulls me that why because Daddio was like that.

No, Foot. That's one episode. I haven't seen it yet, but it's based on Michael Connelly's superb Harry Bosch book series.

In the books, Bosch is a Los Angeles homicide detective specializing in cold cases. But at different points in the series he left to do some P.I. work, then returned to the LAPD in different departments (everything from Major Crimes to Cold Cases).

It's adapted from The Concrete Blonde and City of Bones, so at least in this series, Bosch is an LAPD RHD detective on regular rotation.

From what I've seen so far, there are three story lines in parallel - his civil trial, an ongoing serial killer case and a cold case.

Two of his best. The twist at the end of "The Concrete Blonde" was beautiful.

Possible spoiler (but it's indirect, and they may change it for the tv show anyway):

Not giving it away, but I loved it because the twist involved the killer being in a profession that I have zero respect for in this day and age.

Got through the balance of the series this evening. Pretty entertaining, and certainly left things open for additional seasons.

For those fans of the novels, there are some elements in the show, but the end does take a different turn. Worth a watch.

I found this by accident. This actor is funny does great al Pacino impressions. He can make the interviewer crack up snd he is a great comedian in his own right.

I loved this

Overall, the series was pretty disappointing, but Ive just finished sons of anarchy... Yogi, can you take the guy serious when he looks so much like our British actor, James Nesbitt?.. (Im not able to cut/paste his pic from my iPad but he looks exactly the same..)

Couldnt disagree more fergie, loved the show, hope theres a season 2. And if you watched sons of anarchy you should recognize the guy that played Bosch as the IRA leader "Jimmy O".

Michael Connelly interviewed by WaPo on adapting his novels to a TV series. Looks like he's wanting an overall series of 60 episodes.
