Which MLB League do you prefer and why? The main difference of course is the Designated Hitter.

They play real BB in the National League.

Even though my favorite team is in the A.L., I voted for the National League. I'm a traditionalist and STILL feel that the DH rule is a sacrilege. It changes the dynamics of planning a lineup and drastically changes the strategies.

I voted for the National League.

The bunting, the pinch-hitting, the double switch, it's all missing in the AL.

by the way, is there a chance the Mets@Reds game tomorrow will be rained/snowed out? it's the first day of the season, don't be shy to share your info tongue

It sure didn't look good for Cincy when I checked earlier.

Just looked, and they're now calling for flurries in the afternoon. 36 degrees.

There's a 50% chance of rain showers in the afternoon. They're supposed to be light so I'd guess there's a better than even chance the game will be played.

I preefer the National League and echo Lou's and SC's sentiments. The first rule of baseball is that it is a game played by teams of nine players. The DH violates that rule and disrupts the integrity of the game. There's no way to mask the artificiality of the DH.

That's why I hate when the Mets hire managers that managed only in the AL. What exactly do they do besides fill out a lineup card, and decide how long the SP stays in the game?

I grew up in Houston, live in Chicago (10 minute walk from Wrigley). How can I not be an NL guy?

Who am I kidding though - you all know my loyalties lie with whoever is on my fantasy team. blush
