I am excited as hell with the NHL back! I love baseball and football en all but I need hockey to go with football, both are tough physical sports. Fuck the NBA and their primadonnas, lets go NHL.

My predictions

MVP- Sidney Crosby (Penguins)
Coach of the Year- John Stevens (Flyers)
Rookie of the Year- Erik Johnson (Blues)
Surprise Team- Chicago Blackhawks
Down Turn Team- New Jersey Devils

Eastern Conference Champion- Rangers
Western Conference Champion- Sharks

Some good news for the NHL....seems to be a resurgence in big US markets: Boston, Chicago, Philly, and Denver. Both the Rangers and Islanders are off to good starts, Bettman is happy.

TV Ratings are also up for NYR and NYI as well as their attendance.

Not good news for the Devils. My friend was at the game the other night, and he said the new building was 1/2 full. Much less than the announced attendance of around 14K, which is still much less than full.
