Final Four

So who's bracket is totally shot now? I don't even bother with the brackets myself anymore. But I must say that 2 of the three teams that I wanted to be thus far have (North Carolina, Illinois, and Syracuse were the 3 teams) and the 4 teams that I didn't want to make it didn't (Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Texas, and Kansas).

So, who's everyone got? In case you haven't noticed, I'm pulling for North Carolina over Michigan State and Illinois over Louisville, with North Carolina pulling out the win against Illinois in the championship!

BTW, did anyone watch all 4 games this weekend!? 3 overtime games, with today's game going into double OT. I was pulling for Kentucky, but it doesn't matter now, it's all about UNC!

Louisville's 20 point, come-from-behind overtime win; Illinois coming back from 15 down in the last 4:03 to win in overtime; Michigan State winning in double-overtime and beating both Duke and Kentucky in the tournament in the same year -- this may very well be the greatest quarterfinal weekend in NCAA Tournament in history.

As an Illinois fan, I am still in awe of the speed and fury of their turnaround.

My brackets in the mens tournament has been shot for awhile now. The 4 teams I had going to the final 4 were.

I picked North Carolina to win it all.

I'm pretty proud of myself - I have Illinois, Louisville, and North Carolina in my Final Four (my other was Utah, I thought Bogut would carry them). My championship pick is Illinois.

I tip my hat to the Big Ten. They really proved their might. The "experts" wrote them off as being weak. Well, they showed everyone.

I'm proud of my Villanova Wildcats. Even without their top rebounder and 2nd scorer they almost beat UNC (a little referee help???).

Go Illini. I have to cheer for them. One of our local wrestlers competed as an Illini two years ago - Griff Powell. Might have taken 6th in the NCAAs in 2002.

I have NO idea what went on with that. If the guy travelled he travelled when he initionally caught the ball and not driving to the basket (which would have been a late call anyways). But I love how the kid took 2 steps and then jumped and everytime the commentators would replay it, they'd count 1, 2, and 3, but they'd count 3 when he jumped. I never saw a 3rd step! Oh well, glad UNC won in any case.

MaryCas, I remember Griff Powell! T.J. Williams (Iowa) and Cole Sanderson (Iowa State) were in that same weight class...you had to be pretty good to win an NCAA Championship in that weight class that year. I think Powell beat a high seed early, then got eliminated.

Anyway I would love to see a Big Ten Final. MSU beat Duke, Kentucky and now I have no doubt in my mind that they can match up with UNC.

Na, I'm wanting to see UNC and Illinois (as you've probably already read). I just don't really like MSU. I think they're a fluke/cinderella team that got lucky against Duke and Kentucky (with me wanting both teams to beat MSU). I just don't know, don't really care for them and espeically now that they're playing North Carolina, I can't help but root against them!

Thats cool man, Thats whats great about sports! Since you probably already know Im from Michigan(Flint) and there are only a hand full of teams doing good. So this is really great for sports fans across the state of Michigan. The other reason why Im rooting for them is I went to high school with Anthony Hamo. He is a walk on player, he gets about a minute a game. but he's a good friend of mine.

Yeah I'm just not really a Mighigan fan. 1 of my best friends's family is from Mighigan and he's a big fan. I personally don't like any team from there. I was so disappointed when the Lakers lost in the Finals last year and I don't think Detroit will repeat. I think it was a fluke. They had a good year sure and a good team, but come on, how many people actually expected them to play as well as they did and beat the Lakers? But they did get the job done I'll give them that.
