Controversial View: Please No Sopranos Movie! - 02/02/12 10:27 AM

Yeah I know I will get people hating on this, but I don't want them to make a Sopranos Movie, of course I would watch it if they made it, however I think it could taint a brilliant TV series. I don't think it would translate well into a movie, also I think everything was tied up at the end of the series, it probably went on too long anyhow. Just leave it how it is. I think James Gandolfini knows all this, that's why for now he is not committing, and the fact he wants to move away from that character.

Budget for movie not an issue.

Nudity ($300 K or more.)

Carmela(Nurse Jackie) is suppose to show her saggy tits in the movie for $65K. Tony takes a dump on a plate and she eats it while reading this blog that's been buzzing.

There's a flash back of vito trying to find his Wang and johnny cake gets a ruler out to size him up. He then gets the fire hose out and sprays him down.

Paulie gets desperate with his limb biscut and has to give his elderly mother a bath. He gets caught sticking his head up the old ladies dresses when there playing bingo.

Agree with you James Gandolfini is doing exactly what you said . I do wish someone would bring out another series as good as the Sopranos. People like this and always will. Find it fasinating wink cool and alot try to be what they see. But can only wish. Trust me that is never going to change.

Yeah someone really needs to hurry up with another good crime based series. Underbelly is a pretty decent series if you are into Austrailia organized crime, has helped fill my time well since exhausting The Sopranos.

the soprano's did a good job of glorifing "the life". All the guys had money nice cars and huge houses.

A show about a "brokester" could be interesting. A guy in "the life" who is always broke and just trying to make enough to survive. Mayb he drives a range rover but has 10 bucks in his pocket.

It will never happen. Chase, Gandolfini, and Imperioli wouldn't do it. And, as Steven Van Zandt said recently, it's not likely. To many cast members are gone.

When Rosanna Scotto asked him about a possible "Sopranos" movie, Van Zandt said he didn't think it was likely to happen, despite the series' ambiguous ending that seemed to leave that door open. "I don't think so. Half the cast is dead," he joked, before reminding the hosts that Silvio is "still breathing" after getting shot in the Bada Bing parking lot. "Just in case the movie does happen, Silvio will be there, but nah, it doesn't look likely, it really doesn't," he said.

have imperoli or chase give any reason as to why it's a no go for them? i know why gandolfini doesn't want to...he hated the typecasting that Tony Soprano gave him. i really think they should all be grateful, The Sopranos was easily hands down one of the best televison series of all time. Gandolfini wasn't getting that great of roles before Tony Soprano came around and saved his career. same thing with Imperoli....i mean look how long his lil network cop dramas lasted.....

Let the opening scene be Tony's funeral then. They need a before movie and a after movie, just get somebody to play a younger Tony and it all falls in line.

A Sopranos prequel tv series in Johnny and Uncle Juniors days would be pretty cool.

Livia and seeing Tony grew up into the mob.

That would be good and I don't mind but question will they bring the same actors who play Tony's father and Young Uncle Juniors? cause I think they nailed it but now it's 2012 and the age different.

I agree with everyone. At best a prequel could be interesting, but a post Sopranos series movie? Nahhhhhh

David Chase has never had a problem doing things that the regular audience wouldn't be that enamored by, and he really doesn't seem to lose sleep over what people in the audience think (He starts one of his DVD commentaries with "Welcome to the Sopranos, the show where apparently nothing happens" or something like that), so he probably would consider coming back and doing more with Tony and the others, but he probably wouldn't, is my guess.

Now, the great opportunity here is in doing some kind of a miniseries that's set in the 70s or 80s. I don't know how many actors would be able to come back, but I'd really enjoy seeing some stories focusing on Johnny Boy and Junior back in that era.

I think it's all a pipe dream, though. Chase's new movie shows he may be willing to get away from mob stories.

And they was only bit part actors in a few episodes, could they lead a show on their own?
