Right,

This is kinda "real organised crime" section stuff...but well whatever.

After having watched the new episode of The Sopranos...one thing i have never understood...how does a crime family make money from owning "routes" of a garbage company?!?

Someone please explain.

Extortion, plain and simple. The number of pickups dictate cash flow and therefore enable skim, no show jobs, etc.
