MISTAKE IN GODFATHER 2 - 08/29/04 09:43 PM
In Godfather 2, remember the part where it flashes back to Vito and he hunts down and kills Don Fanucci in his apartment. Well, after he kills Fanucci and then joins his wife and the three kids on the city stoop, and then picks up his son michael and says the line "Michael, your father loves you very much". It is chronologically IMPOSSIBLE for Michael to have been alive. Because when it flashes back to Vito it says 1919-however, Michael was not born until 1920.

the timeline from the novel is different from the one of the trilogy. that explains many "mistakes" like this.

One of the differences (between the novel and movie) is the date of birth of the kids. Sonny, for instance, was born in 1910 in the novel, but for the movie his birth year was figured to be 1916.

yeah, there are a lot of discrepancies like that...but in the end, so what? it doesn't really change all that much, and besides, a suspension of disbelief is a necessity when it comes to literature, no?
